Im curious to know if any of the new CMs coming from the factory are having trim pealing issues. You would think/hope that current or new production of the Countryman would address the issue that people have had.

Any new owners have any problems? Do the peeling problems only pertain to the beltline trim? So that wouldn't that be with the ones who ordered the exterior chrome pkg? I could be completely wrong.

 

That was on early 2011 models only as far as I know. Mine is holding up in 115 degree heat just fine so far.

 

I also have a 2012 and don't have any issues. I haven't read about anyone having peeling trim problems on the newer CMs.

 

According to my MA, it was the second half of the 2011 models. Apparently the supplier is located in Japan and was hit by the tsunami back in March 2011. MINI had to switch to a different supplier which is when the quality issues surfaced. I was assured everything was back in order by the time the 2012 were rolling out of the factory.

Every 2011 on the dealer lot had peeling trim when we placed our order, but 7 months later we have no isses on our 2012 so I have no reason to question what our MA told us.

 

Another '12 here with no issues. Mine was held up at the port before delivery while they swapped out the trim with the updated part.

 

It was just the beltline, so chrome package wouldn't be effected.

Same here. Last year all of them on the lot were peeling. I asked our MA about this while buying a Clubman. He hasn't seen any on the 2012s.

Mine was fixed (back in Sept. I think) and so far has held up to the summer heat.

 

Yep no problem with my 2012 belt line but then again I just covered with vinyl.

 

So glad you asked this question. I pick my new CTM up tomorrow.

 

Got mine in February. She has had many baths--no peeling.
