Anyone know how to clean wax off plastic trim?

After cleaning & waxing my CM I noticed that I accidentally got wax on the plastic trim around the tires so now there is a gross white film on the plastic.
I've already carefully used warm water & dish soap to try and get it off but it still leaves that stupid white film.

Does anyone have recommendations as to how to clean the plastic without potentially damaging the paint? Thanks!

It's a sticky in the Detailing 101 forum. Good luck.

Jeeze, Louise - I followed the link and we sure can beat a horse to death. And then keep going. Try Simple Green.

Just smear some peanut butter on the spot. Let it sit for about 15 minutes and wipe off with a rag. Then spray some windex on a clean rag to wipe off the oil from the peanut butter. I've used this many times on my mini. Works great! The oil is what does the trick, as windex by itself did nothing.

Meguiar's Gold Class Trim Detailler works fine.

I got my best results using a Magic Eraser followed by Black Wow.

It'll come back with Back to Black or, peanut butter. You have to get the wax off.
Pre Wow, Isopropyl alcohol, or non-acetone nail polish remover will take the wax off of the black trim. Use a toothbrush or a detail brush, to scrub it out of the textured plastic.

Follow up with a treatment, like Black Wow, or Back to Black.
