R60 Got Her Yesterday
Got Her Yesterday
I was all set to put in an order for a Countryman, then made the mistake of visiting the dealer yesterday. There sat a Royal Grey S with a black roof and 18" wheels. To make a long story short, it had everything I wanted except the xenons, so I said to myself "8-10 weeks for xenons, or not and drive today". To make a long story short, I got a good price for my trade in, was able to negotiate a $600 discount off of MSRP, and the rest is history. I'm now the proud owner of a Countryman S!
Pics and report to follow. Thanks for the members here who offered suggestions and help with my decision. (BTW - the HK stereo is awesome! Glad I got the premium package)

Fantastic! Congrats...can't wait to see pics
What interior does it have? I'm sure I would have done the same had it had everything but xenons. Enjoy driving while I wait another month, lol, for mine to get here.
Thanks Days, it has the black carbon interior with the standard lighter colored headliner. I sat in one with the darker headliner and it felt claustrophobic to me. Just the right combo of dark, but bright!
Ditto with me on the headliner too (they only had a clubman for me to see it on though). I can't wait to live in the HK sound! My current system shouldn't be called 'premium'.
Looking forward to your pics!

Congrats, I love the Royal Grey, very classy color. We're still waiting on our Cosmic Blue...

BTW - how does one go about doing aftermarket xenons?
To do it right you would retrofit a projector and add the HID lights. Don't do a drop-in kit and cause glare for others. IMO OEM xenons or HIDs (same thing) are a requirement for me in the future, a retrofit is actually cheaper but require labor and a dremel.
Good to see somebody else here has great taste!
Just kidding. I too was considering the Anthracite wheels, but those brushed chrome ones look pretty good too. Maybe that's one of Mini's sales tactics - they have so many options, you'd be better off with 2 or 3, so you can mix and match

But... actually, there might be a change of plan in order. The dealer just informed me CMS that coincidentally had everything I wanted, actually does not have the Anthracite headliner, which is a must in my book. I will be doing factory order and I will be going with either snow white or surf blue (so I can save extra $500 spent on metallic paint! seriously
) Nevertheless, Royal Gray with Black is.. so freaking awesome!
