I ordered on Sept 21, production started on Sept 22 (MA found a cancelled order that we got changed before it hit 111 status)

I called ASK MINI and they told me that Prodcution will be be complete Oct 2nd. I'm guessing that makes me WK40..

I called ASK MINI cause I was concerned that the CVT transmission shortage would affect the whole production line. But they said it shouldn't be a problem.

So I try to patiently wait..

DS/S MCSa :Chrome Int/Ext, Chrono, DSC, Cold Wthr, Sunrf

I ordered my 2nd MCS a week ago today. CR/B MCS, sport, premium and cold weather packages. Anthracite headliner, body-color dash, LSD, tartan red cloth/leather. I'm also getting the alarm, and will probably add the JCW steering wheel in short order. I'm also in production week 40 and am already eagerly watching the OL! :-)

Boy, the wait is killing me. Now that I know the Oct 2nd seems concrete for completion.. I need to negotiate the trade-in value of my used car.

I figure they can at least help in that deptartment with financing if not any other discounts for our beloved MINI. Anybody have luck with that?

Thanks

My MCS has a completion date of October 2 also. My MCS will be DS/WHT (my first manual trans.), Anthracite Int and HL, Chrome Line Interior, LSD, Rear Fog Light, Alarm, Premium Pkg minus the sunroof and Sport Pkg minus the 17" Wheels. This will be my first Mini and I can't wait .

Where are all the other Week 40s?
Anyways.. I called up ASK MINI this morning..
my baby's in the body shop :D

That much closer to being in my hands.
So i guess if we luck out, we'll be seeing them by the 4th week of Oct if not the end of the 3rd week of Oct?

In a way, I'm glad its not for another couple of weeks cause I have the Army 10 mile marathon this Sunday, and I know I'll be hurtin some next week, so I wouldn't have been able to enjoy the curves as much!

Just found out from ASK MINI that our baby will be finished TODAY Now she has to catch a boat and head to her new home. Wonder how long now? Ordered her exactly one month ago today. Chili Red Cabrio, cold weather, chrome inside and out, CVT.

Greetings from a Week 33er. Mine was completed on August 22, and I took delivery on September 9th. 18 days. A long 18 days.

But SO worth it.

Thanks for that info!
Now my long wait starts (or continues)
Actually, overall, not so bad. considering My order went in on Sept 21.. If I'm able to take delivery near the 20th of Oct, thats only 1 month total..

Sounds better than a lot of the others on NAM (poor souls ), espeically the VIN mixups and the plant closure during the late summer.

Thanks!

Anxiously wating...

Our Chili Red MCS Convertible is scheduled for production this week. I am very excited and anxiously awaiting our/my new car. The wife drives a mini-Van and the MINI will be mine. We recently moved to a larger home with less garage and I am going to have to give up my '72 Porsche 914. I've decided that I would try to find a car that is as fun as the 914 but as reliable as my late model SUV. No other car that I've looked at came close to the fun factor...until I stumbled across a 2005 MINI Cooper convertible at CarMax.

We're driving to Nashville from Knoxville to pick up the car...soon, I hope. Should I even bother trying to negotiate a good trade at this point or just sell my SUV myself. We paid a $1k deposit and have agreed to MSRP...I'm not sure we really have any bargaining power at this point.

Any thoughts?

I'm trying for some bargaining for the trade-in.
I have my SUV on personal Ads as well, and got a price from Carmax and other wholesale pricing.

But the way I see it, you have the MA that helped you out with the deal (in this case MSRP) on the car, now its time to work the Business Manager and Finance folks, cause if you are financing, you can work with the trade-in as long as you finance with MINI.

Carmax whole sale price was about $1k shy of my payoff amount, so I'm asking the finance guys to write that off in the trade-in, and I'll finance the final car amount as agreed with my MA.

I see it kinda like a discount in the end.. wouldn't you?

This is how dealers normally work for themsleves, by squeezing one end of the deal to make it look sweeter, so why not use it yourself?

ALSO: Found out WK40s are in quality today, *the first engine turn, lights, driving etc!* so if we can catch ships by the end of the week, we'll see them at port on the 15th or 19th.. **crossing fingers**

Congrats!

ASK MINI says ours is estimated to be completed on the 10th. Which will put us out a few weeks yet, I guess. I guess I'll just have to suffer some cool weather top-down motoring.

At least the production date is within sight, and they pump those MINIs out there quickly. It be great to see a tour of that factory someday..

as for the trade-in, talked to MINI dealer, finance guys will not budge.. and they won't beat the 5.6% the credit union is offereing, so looks like my SUV is going to Carmax, I'll use some of the Down Payment cash for neg. equity and sign the bank note to the MINI dealer.. (At least my SUV won't keep on loosing value on my watch)

And off they go

Where are all the WK40 people? Is Gianna riding with a bunch of dealer specd orphans?

anyways.. had some time on my hands, here's the current location of the
ARC "Integrity", the boat left this morning with about 180 MINIs on board.
(looking at the BL)

Below is a pic of the ARC Integrity at port in Baltimore;

Still scheduled to arrive in NY on the 15th, anyone else on this boat?
Or is Gianna socializing with the Orphans. You know, they said there's a great buffet and lots of partying on that cruise!

Odd. I just called ASK-MINI (spoke w/ Andrew) and he said Week 40 is *next* week. (and just for good measure) . Either way, my car's showing "scheduled for production". Blast! ;-)
