Production Week 40 (Oct 2, 2006) Support Group
Woohooo! I picked up Gianna today! What a great time at MoS as well! Robin and Mike are the best at making sure everything went well.
And Gianna.. looking soo good..
First thing I did when I got home was take some pics, and change out the 2006 cupholder for the 2003..
(difference, the 2006 one which is mounted way too high and has no depth spills things easily.. from what I have seen, the 2003 bolts around the downtube and can be height adjusted, has a closed bottom and is easier in general to work with for the passengers.) I'll take some pics later of that.
here are some quick shots.. tomorrow we'll hit the skyline dr and get some some nice scenic shots :D
at the dealer MoS
on the way home.. had to get a quick shot with the fall leaves behind..
and a shot on the driveway (hard to see the colors because of the sun, but DS with S and chrome grill/mirrors.. looks be-a-u-tiful!
I even took the long way home today just to hit the back roads. but I'm still babying her, so haven't really opened her up yet.. but 1200 miles shouldn't be so hard

Good Luck to the rest of you!
oh, and for the record.. I know there was a thread out there:
came with 12 miles on it and the dealer gave me.. ummm .. a 2003 cup holder, and i don't think i can say right now.. but it was good!
My status just changed tonight on the OL to "At VDC". With an estimated Delivery Date of 10/22. Since my dealer is closed on Sunday, i'll call them Monday to see if they have an actual delivery date for me.
It came with 12 miles......fill me in
It came with 12 miles on it....is there a specific limit on the mileage? Fill me in....I hope I will get to pick up my baby soon....it still says enroute.
the 12 miles is just how much a survey on NAM was asking .. some were 6 miles others 17 miles or something..
it was the driving on to the boat, the insepection ad QC I believe, 12 miles sounds reasonable to me
Good Luck!

My status changed too! My status changed too! The OL says "At VDC". The estimated Delivery Date is 10/23.
Boy you guys are lucky. I had to wait exaclty two weeks for my status to change en-route. Unfortunately ship tracking info at Wallenius Wihlmsen is not available yet so I figure it is probably only scheduled to get on a ship maybe today or tomorrow.
For those of you that received yours or have them at the VDC are you on the east coast?

If yours just changed and no info is showing up on the WW site, I would guess that you are on a non WW ship like I was.
Hoping you all get your cars soon!!
FYI - I set up a chat room for MINI order tracking over at MotoringFun.com. Should be fun chatting with other MINIacs waiting for their MINIs to be delivered!

Good Luck to all of you still waiting.. I am in Maryland, so our wait isn't too long.. and I was impressed.. only 4 weeks.. exactly 4 weeks for delivery.. :D
We took a drive today through the mountains in North MD, and to the wineries in VA then around the farms and back home. (lots of windy roads

so after 200 miles of motoring, a lot of pavement, some gravel and dirt road, pumpkins, rivers, lots of leaves and color.. got the whole backend all dusted up, and some mud on the passenger's tires.. so now I get to detail again.. but every mile is worth it..
Hope you will all soon be out there motoring

Congrats on the MCS TOO! Looks Very Nice!
Thanks
and yep, those are them..
I'm running them on the 16 V-Spoke, you do notice the bumps a little more..
Seems less than when I rode in my friend's MCS with 17's.. (But that was a while ago). they grip nice for me.. and I don't plan on AutoX anytime soon..
We'll see how the winter cold weather will work on those A/S.. I'm interested to see if they remain a little soft on the tread.
I was thinking next winter, when the tread is down some, I'll get a set of 15" steelies with winter tires for the winter season.
How's the 914 sale going?

awesome! congrats... This will be the longest day and night of your life as you wait for pickup..
You know, I thought that 1 month wait was the longest time ever, but now.. every 8 or 9 hour day at work is the longest day cause I just want to go outside and motor!
