That's easy to find out using the WW site. Good luck, and here's hoping there are boats aplenty!

And trust me, you're not a freak - they don't come much more obsessive than myself

I am on the wrong coast! Left one that is. I just checked WW shipping schedules, looks like they leave once a week for our port. 9/11, 9/18 and 9/25. My prod week is 36 so technically I could be completed by 9/10. Most likely be on 9/18 ship (hoping) It's 23 days transit to here! Only 14 to east coast. Really, I am trying to plan my timeline. I want to sell my car. It all comes down to timing and strategy. Hey, how did you choose stella's name?

I totally understand the timeline issues. I also just sold my car and was trying to get it exactly timed out; but then I got nervous and decided to dump it while I could (and really got an excellent amount of money for it - exactly what I asked for!) If your production is complete even by 9/10, I would count on being on the 9/18 ship; we in PWSG 33 have discovered that it can take anywhere from 2 to 7 (or more!) days to get on a boat. It only took Stella two, so most likely you'll be on the 9/18 ship

As for her name, I thought Stella sounded very British (Stella McCartney and all), and not to mention that "The Italian Job" was my first exposure to MINIs. Obviously, I was hooked from the start. And Charlize Theron's character was just so awesome - a smart, strong, brave female. So I just stole her character's name. I thought it was all fitting!

Very nice..... for some reason, my first thought was of CSI NY. But I am a CSI (ny, miami and original) fan (antic). Stella is a strong female detective. But I like your reason much better. I have the Italian job on DVD. I need to watch it again before I take delivery.

Well, while my baby is waiting at the dock, I decided to at least get her her license plate. As of today she will officially be wearing "WOOFNME". I have a 16 month old german shepherd named "Nikita". I couldn't buy the car until I measured the dog to make sure she fit! I think she'll really like her new car, especially with the top down!!!!

I ordered mine on July 29th also

SpringMinifan~

I'm not too sure what you mean by "production week", but I ordered mine on July 29, 2006 as well. Per "askmini", I was told my car will be done sometime this week or early next week (Aug. 25-28). The dealer said it will be ready for me to pick up in Texas by Sept. 18th. My husband and I are driving it home to Washington State. We're going to make it a "Mini" vacation by stopping various places to tour on the way home. We'll probably spend about 10 days on the road.

Where do you live? Let me know when you get yours. We'll have to see who gets their car first.

My MCS specifics:
Hyper blue w/white top & bonnet strips
English leather interior
Automatic w/Aritronic Paddles
Sport, Winter, Premium & Convenience Pkgs
Rear park distance control
Rear fog light
Anthracite dash interior
Cockpit chrono pkg
Chrome line exterior (grille, mirror caps, hatch, bumpers)
Chrome line interior
Chrome bonnet scoop
Chrome dual exhaust tips
8-Spkr. Harman Kardon sound system
Center arm rest
Rear saddlebag
Sunshade
Floor mats (front, rear & boot)
Mini logo valve stem caps
Security system

From what ask mini says, it technically should only take 4 days to build the car, but for comfort they pad that with the estimate of 6 days.

Just to give you all an idea of how the "accurate" the ASK MINI automated tracking system is, I just called and it said that my MINI is being assembled and is due to be completed 23 Aug. :impatient I'm definitely going to call and speak to a live human later on today to see if I can get a real answer. Or maybe I'm just stuck in Back to the Future...

Our MINI will complete production today or tomorrow and they are not estimating delivery until approximately 21 September and we live on the East Coast. You may want to check before making plans as that seems to really be pushing the envelope.

Once your MINI finishes production which usually takes the better part of a week it then must be transported 60 miles to Southampton where it will board a ship. Sailing time to New Jersey is approximately 2 weeks. Once off-loaded from the ship then the trip to the dealership can take another week or more depending how far you are from the port.

Actually, my MINI left last week on the Courage, and I was able to check the schedules; each boat leaving from Southampton takes 10 days exactly to get to the NY port.

10 days selling time it is to NY, then a few more if it travels to SC port. My mini is on its way to me onboard the party boat (Manon) which left southhampton on the 22nd.

here is the Manon at sail, it just reported its updated postion. The Manon seems to report in every 6 hours. Zoom out, and you can see how far it has traveled from southhampton and how far its traveled in 1 day.

http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...html?call=SIWN

keep in good spirits! week 33 is wishing you all the best of luck!

Edit: always speak to a person not the auto-message. Even if you call 10 times a day, ask to speak to a represenitive.

Mine ended up getting on a 'ghost ship' that is unknown, lol... It's not a WW ship, but on something else since ASK MINI says it's in transit... Maybe I got a 'special' boat because my MINI was crowned king or something, haha. I presume it's headed to Charleston too since that is the port listed on my order.

On the WW ships, it list it as taking 14 or 15 days to sail there.

You're making me jealous...

I just called, and Freddie is just barely out of assembly, going through QA checks.

That being said, it's nice to know that Freddie exists now as a complete unit, rather than being just a number in a database or a pile of unassembled parts...

Now the *real* wait begins...

Congrats! We over in Week 33 are compiling all the information we can on ship booking/tracking, so hopefully some of that will help when it comes to the next leg of Freddie's journey

I appreciate the work y'all have done!

It's amazing to see how much information the NAM community puts out about the MINI production process. There's something special about MINI owners...

Production time for JCW is longer???

I just spoke to Patrick at ASK MINI who told me that my car still hasn't made it to the body shop (even though production started on Monday). Does it take significantly longer to get through when the car has JCW??

Anyway, he told me Wishbone is scheduled for completion on August 31 (sounds longer than most ), so I would expect to be on the Maersk Wave out of Southampton on September 11th, into Port Hueneme on Oct 4th, which leaves me to think I'll have Wishbone around October 18. Can't wait!!

All i know is that, cars enter the paint booth in groups, all the blue cars, then red, white, green ect. (in no real order just an example) that way they dont have to keep switching colors while spraying. Also the more options a car has the longer it can take during assembly. Im sure your car will get there soon.

hang in there.

Freddie is at the port as well. He's not yet showing up in the WW manifest system, but at least he's there, getting to know his fellow travellers...

crazypoet, maybe ours will be making the voyage together! I'm guessing that since you are in GA that yours will be coming in through Charleston as well??

Don't worry. Mine said the same thing on the day it was supposed to be completed (8/23) and yesterday - a day after it was supposed to be finished - the automated system said it was being assembled and still to be completed on 8/23 . You may want to try calling and talking to a live person for more accurate info.

The next ship...

For anyone whose cars are currently waiting at the port, it looks like the next vessel to the east coast will be the Boheme, which arrives/departs Southampton on 8/29 according to the WW schedules.

Vessel: BOHEME

Voyage: EA634-BOH

The sailing schedule and ports of call are subject to change without notice. Note: Red ports of call means the vessel has already sailed.

automated system is no good, always talk to a live person.

cars VIN# normally does not show up on the ship until the day before/day of the vessel setting sail. I believe the car actully has to be onboard the ship and have a booking number before the car shows up. Mine didnt show up until 8/22 and thats the day the ship left southhampton.
