OL and MINI USA still say it's En Route. Haven't heard from my MA since the African Highway has landed.

Anyone else on the African Highway have any updates?

I hear ya...I'm in TN and they are telling me 10 days, so even though it's here in SC, they don't expect to see it at the dealer until 24th and then 2-3 days after that for delivery.

I'm guessing that they have to have enough cars to fill up a truck, and that is why it's going to take a couple of more days. So far I haven't even been given an estimated arrival date.

The African Highway has come and gone, according to the website. Anyone seeing a change in the OL from Enroute to @ VDC or hearing from their MA?

I got nothin' here, too. Still en route/in transit. I'm also getting the imaginary car comments since most people I know have always bought off the lot, they can't imagine having to wait for something.

I'm getting super antsy!!

Too Hard

This is too hard! I couldn't have gotten through this much waiting if I couldn't sign onto NAM and see everyone else suffering too. At least that way I know it's normal.
On a sad note, my pick-up date is in jepordy ( how do you spell that?) because the dealer has lots of cars, but BMW hasn't sent any titles .
Why isn't there a "tearing your hair out" smiley?

I just got an email from my MA saying that it looks like estimated delivery on the 21st.

Now I need to figure out if I'll be able to pick it up one day after work or have to wait until Saturday since the dealer is about 2 hours away...hmmmm.

Hi everyone, this is my first post here and my car was also on the African Highway. I am waiting along with all of you and been reading and learning a lot here. Flow Mini is my dealer. I am getting a HB/white roof and stripes with lapis seats. Currently driving an early 60s Ford Falcon.

Welcome, CB! Sounds like the MINI will be a major change for you--at least as far as size is concerned! I hope you'll regale us with stories about the adjustment period... Where are you located?

Sounds like quite a contrast with your current car. I'm driving a 1950 Chevy pickup, so the contrast with my new MINI is huge. Check out the "How big is your gap?" thread for other cool switches. (I don't know how to insert links, sorry.)

Hi CB! Flow MINI is also my dealer. I've been working with Brad Ray, the internet sales guy. Have they given you an estimated delivery date? Who knows, we might cross paths when we pick up our cars! Your spec sounds great!

Wow, what's going to happen with the Falcon? I love classic cars (my father used to restore them), so I'd love to find out what your plans are.

Hey everyone, yeah it will be a major change but the things that will remain the same are I will be driving a car with integrity, good looks AND good mileage. My 144 C.I. straight 6, three on the tree Falcon claims to get 35 mpg hwy in the original owner's manual (I have never verified this but it does do well). Not many cars 45 years later can claim that! I always laugh at the hybrid car commercials, needing 2 motors to get high 30's, what a joke! I will be selling the old bird to help pay for the new one and I won't be losing money on the re-sell. The Falcon is also not a bomb as most might think, it was one of the first smaller cars introduced, I had a mini pull up next to me at the PO the other day and it was no doubt smaller, but not that much. The Falcon is the best car I have ever owned but it is time to get something I can take on some long trips.
Doodlez, Brad is also my dealer, I haven't heard about any pick up time yet, I have a few dealer installs which may hold things up some for me. My second color choice was AB/W, hope I get to see your car when I get mine, small world. I'm in Carolina Beach, NC.

CB: Nice shot of the Falcon w/ the surfboard! I had a friend in college who drove a dark green Falcon (not sure what year) but it wasn't in all that good shape. That is pretty interesting about the mpg - who'da thought?

Brad told me yesterday that my car should be in on Thurs., but I will be having stripes installed, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to pick it up then or not. We shall see. Keep us updated on your status. I was this close to changing mine to HB after I test drove a HB/S, but ended up staying with the AB. All the colors looks great, so it was tough to decide.

So close...

Just checked the OL and it has given me an estimated delivery date of 9/18 (that's tomorrow). I had already coordinated with my MA to take delivery on Friday at noon, so we'll see if he calls me tomorrow to schedule it earlier!! So excited!!
