I hope mine makes it to the docks that quickly, then maybe I might make the Manon departing tomorrow (somehow I believe that is wishful thinking - a girl can hope, though, right?). Otherwise, mine will also most likely be departing on 8/30 on the Boheme.

I'm holding off on my ASK MINI call until a little later in hopes of getting good news!

Born on 8/20, my MCSC is already booked on the Manon and leaving Southampton today! Should arrive in SC on 9/5! Then comes the black box journey to TX...

I'm amazed it caught the boat that quickly. I've read that there may be a couple of days of testing followed by a few day jaunt down to the port, for a total of as much as a week between completion and shipping - I definitely got lucky.

As a side note - the OL still says my MINI is "scheduled for production"... that system isn't worth much...

Hope some of y'all share this cruise as well!

Congratulations, cgarber! Isn't it a wonderful feeling to know that not only does your car exist, but that it's on its way to you?

Wow, congrats cgarber! Looks like I won't be making a boat until 8/30 - my MA said production should be completed today, ASK MINI says tomorrow , so we'll see who is right on that one. It just seems like time is moving sooo slowly!!

Hey folks - looks like I am a 34'er too. My MA told me that Wishbone's production week was 36, but I just checked with ASK MINI and was told we are in production - looks like paintshop tomorrow or Thursday!!

We are almost through production as well, either tomorrow or Thursday. How can you track it on to the boat?

Congratulations, Griff...isn't it exciting?

From what I have read, tracking the MINI on the boat can be done as follows once production is complete:

First, you need to obtain your VIN from the Owners Lounge.

Then go to http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do. Go here and click on 'Auto Cargo'. Put your VIN in the 'Cargo ID' box. This should show you what boat your MINI is on.

To track the actual ship's voyage go to www.sailwx.info. Use the 'Find ship by name or call sign' under the Ship Tracker menu.

I found all this info on the Track your MINI sticky: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=70301

I took delivery yesterday. The OL says Red is still at the VPC. Guess I better go look in the garage.

Awesome, MiniMaxx! The OL is frusteratingly innaccurate :impatient thus forcing us to obsessive-compulsively call ASK MINI

Or maybe they just want us to be super surprised and happy when we find out that it's really further along after assuming the worst...in any case, congratulations and motor on!

Here is an option that I will probably order to keep the temps/UV down from the sunroof.
I found out yesterday that our 06 will be completed tmrw, August23rd.
We are pretty excited. Paino black dash, upgraded leather, HK stereo, etc.

I also spoke with Mini today and they are saying mine will be completed on Wednesday, Aug 23rd...so does that leave time to catch a boat still this week or will it happen next week? Impaitently waiting.......

Where are you located? That will make a difference on the boat schedules for you. Mine will be coming in through Charleston, so one boat sailed yesterday to Charleston and the next one will be sailing on 8/29.

If you go to http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...countryList.do and plug in Southampton, UK and whichever port yours will be coming in through it will give you the schedules and names of boats departing in the next week or so.

Thanks!

dealer fees and final bill in general

Just curious - have y'all already received a final invoice from your MA detailing MSRP and any various possible other charges from the dealer? Or is this something you're planning to finalize close to or at pickup?

I haven't received a final invoice yet; however, I asked my MA about all the fees and installation costs up front before I even ordered. He had no problem telling me what they would be. They charge a doc fee of $374 , tax here in NC is 3%, he was able to tell me cost of stripes + installation as well as what the tag would run. They wouldn't budge on the doc fee or msrp, but did give me a $200 accessory credit.

He totalled up the MSRP+accessories/installation-credit for me but not the final total including everything else.

My MA gave me an Excel spreadsheet listing all the details of my order, along with all of the fees, cost of dealer-installed options and the total. Very nice approach, since I could see exacly what was being charged for each item.

On another note - Freddie is out of the paint shop and moving through assembly... Yippee!

I just got an update from (866) Ask MINI for my production status and it now says 25 Aug. v. 24 August from 2 days ago. Has anyone else seen a slip. Can we still make the 30th shipment?

Hey Griff,

My car was completed 8/16 and was out in the ocean by 8/18. That just goes to show you that once production is complete you can be on a boat in a matter of days.

My MA told me 22 Aug on the 16th. Yesterday when I called ASK MINI it said 23 Aug so I'm guessing maybe there was some sort of delay

Yes. But it depends. Mine and Katherine's MINIs where side by side all the way to the port, then mine got left behind and is still there... so it can go either way :impatient

Oh, and cgarber... I requested a drive out cost when i first ever went to inquire about a MINI. I wanted a 'total cost'. MOTW only has a $50 dealer fee for registration etc. Everything else is taxes etc. The total for my MC with options etc. is $18950. The total including all taxes, etc. was estimated at $20,437.91
