Looks like it is just you and I in this week right now. Sounds like you have a sweet ride coming.

Mine went into production on 7/7 and is scheduled for completion on 7/17. Then on the long journey to the west coast port. Good luck on your wait! Any others out there trolling the boards as I did for a week before registering?

Come on... jump in!

Sounds like you have quite a ride yourself! I spent, umm, literally years debating MC v. MCS and all sort of other things. If you are truly bored you can read the saga here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=72881

I ordered on 7/6 and am scheduled to be complete on 7/17 as well so we can obsess together :impatient Given the amount of stuff in other threads on this subject, Ive been wondering why I seem to be the only one (and now 2!) for this week. Hey, the misery of waiting needs company--where are y'all?

I ordered my Mini before the 4th of July, but the dealer wanted to wait until after the holiday weekend. After emailing them, I finally got a call back yesterday saying that they had put the order in some time last week, and I got my production number. Tracking on the OL and ASK-MINI currently shows "On order" but no production date scheduled yet. Hopefully it will go through soon. I wonder how long it normally takes to be scheduled?

I was lucky in that the dealer put in my order in immediately and I had a production number the same afternoon. It took a few days after that for it to go from "on order" to a scheduled date. Im kind of surprised that your dealer is estimating a Sept date--though maybe that is because the factory is supposed to shut down for a bit for re-tooling in early August. Dunno. From what other people have said in other threads, calling and speaking to a human at ASK MINI gets you the most up-to-date and complete info.

Well, I thought that September was actually pretty good considering that the first time we went to actually test drive the car, they estimated 4-5 months to get one. Then when we came back to order, they've been saying September all along, which was only two months away. They said that once it gets scheduled, it takes about a week to produce but then could take over a month to get here.

I suppose it varies a lot from dealer to dealer (how many production slots they have and the like)--I was told to expect mine the 2 or 3rd week of August; so about 5-6 weeks after the order date.

" Nondescript '06 PS/B MCS, LSD... on order!"

I don't think *any* MINI is nondescript ;-p Welcome aboard to the annoying waiting room for delivery!

Production Week 29, I think...

Hi, new here, my MINI was ordered on July 8th (I was given the production number on the spot). According to ASKMINI, it went from On Order to In Production yesterday (7/11) with an estimated completion date of 7/19. I'm having a hard time not obsessively checking status every few hours (*grin*).

My baby...her name is Perdita...

MINI Cooper Convertible
Chili Red
Black Top
Black Bonnet Stripes
Cold Weather Package
5-Speed Getrag Manual
Performance Tires
Multi-Function Steering Wheel
Panther Black Octagon Cloth
Accessory Audio Input

The test drive was a BLAST...I am so looking forward to getting this car...it's been twelve years since my last new car and 18 years since I had a ragtop. We're going on vacation on 8/19 and I have my fingers crossed hoping to take delivery by then...

Well it looks like I'm going to have to wait a little longer for mine. Despite the fact that I ordered it before the 4th of July, the ASK-MINI representative today said that it looks like it's not going into production until sometime in late August. He estimated week 31-33 and said that different dealers have different weeks for their allotment. After it's produced, he said it will most likely take 4-5 weeks to get to the West Coast, and then the accessories will have to be installed at the dealer. I'm probably looking at closer to October than September delivery at this point. Oh well!

Arthurbang,

Sorry to hear that! Not sure if you have checked dealers around you or what part of the country you are in. If you have a choice, maybe you can order with another dealer or check if there is a car similar to what you are ordering already coming in. If not, keep reading and the wait should make the car that much more exciting when it comes!

The dealer near me had no inventory earlier this week. The showroom was empty!

gshochet,

Welcome to the support group! (I feel like we should all start with, "We love you [name]." Like an AA meeting or something)

What a fun convertable you will have. What part of the country are you in? Do you know which port/VDC your car will come into? You may have a shot at 8/18 if you are on the east coast. If you haven't checked it out yet, you can follow the boats leaving Southhampton, England online. You can check it out at: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/

phcrim,

I will have to read the thread on your debate this weekend! I spent last weekend reading the debate on which car wax was best https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=26451

Any change on your status? I called Ask Mini today and my car has not started assembly. It went into production on 7/7 with a scheduled completion date of 7/17.

Hey Stomprocket--I too read that whole waxing debate--and, to add to the general pathetic-ness of it all, I actually umm downloaded and read a 2005 MINI Cooper owner's manual. I think this is probably not healthy ;-p I haven't been able to call and actually talk to a human at ASK MINI as Ive been travelling and won't be back home til this weekend. My online status hasn't changed and the ASK MINI computer phone thingamajog still says it expects the car to be complete on 7/17. I hope so and that it goes directly to a ship with no waiting!

Its like being a kid the weeks before x-mas all over again!

Is it shutting down for just tours, or the whole plant is going to stop production all together??

I was told that production started on the 7th and is scheduled to be done on the 17th, but then it probably won't arrive for another month and a half to 2 months at the dealership!!! lame... can't they fed ex it overnight
