Very cool. Post pics when you get it. I want to get a Chili Red shift **** to match the mirrors, nothing quite that custom. It would be a nice focal point for the interior with the orange cue ball!

Couldn't let it happen!

I couldn't let us slip to page 3. PW 29 was at the bottom of p.2 when I spotted it. How is everyone? Where are we at on mods? I hit a raised manhole cover with my passenger side front wheel in a work zone. Not a severe hit but enough to make me go "Sheep"! Popped the hood a little later and sure enough, I had slight mushrooming on my pass. side shock tower. I had been following those threads and was already considering the M7 SRP's. Needless to say, I ordered immediately and have them mounted. I'm suprised at our MINI's weak link with such a simple fix available. Now I'm cruisin' with confidence. (and eyes wide open under those shades) I'd suggest you all consider them!

Thanks MiniMaxx for resurrecting the thread! Sorry to hear about your bump. I'm not familiar with the M7 SRP's. I will have to check it out. I do like the hood scoop though and saw one on a MINI a month ago. No mods yet for me. I have been reading up on exhaust systems though and eyeing a red shift ****.

What about the rest of the group?

If you're considering an exhaust mod, I would unconditionally recommend the Milltek catback. Not only does it add about 5hp (they claim a little more), the sound is AWESOME! Not too loud, no drone on the highway, just a mellow sound and feel. 100% stainless, beautiful workmanship, just a great mod!

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you have experience with them? I mean is it a project that can be done without taking to a pro?

BTW... I'm at 1150 miles.. closing in on the official break in

I had one on my 05 MCS because I couldn't stand the tinny pop pop pop. I absolutely loved the sound. Not overbearing, not too loud, but it lets you know its there when you stand on it. Straight forward easy install but you pretty much need access to a lift not thats its impossible without but much easier with. I had a MINI tech put it on after hours. He wanted $40 but I gave him $60. My JCW cat back is pretty quiet so I'm almost tempted to put it on Red, I like it that much. It costs about $695 but I've seen it for a little less. Check out the Performance Mods- Drivetrain forum. Lots of threads re Milltek and the others.

PS The tips look cool too. Actually they look just like the JCW tips.

Hey! I'd even stopped looking because everyone went their own way. Hope everything is well.
Let's see... I did the rear seat delete and the dog likes the extra headroom, got me a set of Michelin Pilot Alpins on 16 inch ASA's (one of Tire Rack's cheaper wheels but they look nice) so I'm ready for winter. Yesterday, I installed GoMiniGo's Pulsar Third (top) brakelight flasher. When you hit the brakes, the top light flashes 4 times within a second (or thereabouts) before going on solid. If you take your foot off and reapply the brakes, it flashes 4x before going solid again. It looks good and hopefully it will keep that dump truck out of my back seat.(Oh yeah, I don't have a back seat anymore but you know what I mean) edit:Oh yeah, I added the M7 SRP's after a little pothole mushroom incident. end edit.
As far as miles, I'm just turning 4,000 but next week is road trip week: 3,000 miles or so down to Gulfport to see my brothers with a stop in Arkansas to see my GF's Mom, then back, up through Kansas to see her son (GF's), all in a (Thanksgiving) week. I should have about 7,000 by the end of the month. I'm just hoping 1) no snow storms and 2) no flats.
Anyway, I hope the others check in. Good hearing from you.
Didn't make the Thanksgiving trip because I came down with the Shingles. Yow! Anyway, hope to take a modified Roadtrip Christmas week.

I've got 5500 on my car. It's telling me that I can go another 5300 or so until my first service. I'm averaging around 30 mpg.

The weirdest thing that's happened so far?? My girlfriend and I drove up to San Francisco last weekend, and when we stopped off at Pismo Beach, they let you drive right on the sand, and the car got stuck.. oops! Took about 20 minutes to get the car out.

My only update is my self installed (pats self on back) JCW Fatty that I did yesterday. Its awesome. Its so thick. It feels so good in my hands.......I'm talking about the steering wheel, you pervs.

I'm still here (daily). I've put on 6800 miles. Did a driving school event in Brainerd, MN in September. Installed a JCW CIA and OCC myself. Changed my oil twice already. Zanio'd over Thanksgiving for the winter and a co-worker has a heated garage with a carwashing station in her apartment building underground parking so have taken advantage twice already. My wife is now driving it and loves it too. She was reluctant at first because she hasn't driven a manual for 10 years.

Long live PW29!

Good to hear it. I did my own install on the JCW Fatty. I was going to have the dealer do it at $75 because I was a little uncomfortable monkeying with the air bag, even had an appointment, but everybody said it was an easy install so I went ahead and did it!

Sweet. My next mod is definately the auto up window with garage door openner circuit. My garage door openner is now in the glove box and I am tired of leaning over to open and fish around to push the button. I don't want to clip it on the visor. I could velcro it under the dash, but then I can't get the new part.

Any snow in Milwaukee? None here in the Twin Cities.

No snow but they're calling for some this weekend. I've been eating up my Michelin Pilot Alpins for nothing. Then again, I hate snow and salt. Wonder where everybody else is?

-11 this am. It's cold but I've seen worse. MINI loves it. Mine's clean too! TIMING is everything. I watch the weather figuring when the front's going to go thru and wash him right before the plunge (touchless of course). I've run it thru the wash as low as +11 f with no freezing problems. At that point, the roads are dry and your baby stays (relatively) clean for the duration of the cold snap! Good to hear from a 29'er! ...and GO COLTS because "The Bears still suck"!!!

I just took mine in for the first service (10,200 miles). They gave me a hard time because the car said I had another 1,000 miles until service! No problems, except for a rattle in the trim that was easily fixed. It has been the best car I have ever owned... sadly, I have to get rid of it for a larger company car

Hope all is well with the rest of PW 29!

Sorry to read about having to sell the Mini. Maybe 2 cars and keep the Mini?

I had my first service (counter hit zero with mileage at 11.8k) last month. Currently rolling over 13k miles. Just added 15% pulley and engine damper. The pulley is great! Nice power boost, great engine whine. Also immediately noticed the damper. The damper really helps the Mini feel connected to the throttle. Added the o-rings and have very little idle vibrations.

Next mods need to be cosmetic and convenience. Window auto up, have many chips to repair, and really need another coat of Zanio.

If you sell StompRocket, hopefully you can stick around NAM and maybe buy another Mini when you just can't stand it anymore. Maybe a PW 29, 08?
