Thanks for resurrecting us MiniMaxx! I didn't have much news to post. My car arrived at the port in California on 8/14 and has sat there ever since! I talked with my MA and he says it does not show up at the VDC or in the MINI inventory yet. So I need to get a rental car tomorrow and hope it won't be much longer...

Well, StompRocket did some surveillance today, and snapped a picturephone pic at lunchtime of what looks like my mini. Sure enough, around 6:30 or so tonight, my MA gave me a call and said it was in. Of course, he's not working again until Friday, so I can't get it until then...but at least it is here and I'll soon be motoring.

StompRocket's mini and my mini rode over together in the same boat...but for some reason, they haven't pulled his into the VDC yet...which totally bites! On the positive side, mine shipped out of the VDC the day after it was showing that it went into the VDC, and then was at the dealer the next day...so when Stomp's mini starts moving...it probably won't take long.

So, thanks to StompRocket (thanks, Stomp), here is the first known pic of the little red guy.

Bill~

Well, Stomp, you know my VPC saga. When they "disappear" , something is usually up but I hope not or at least something minor. Too bad, Bill, that someone other than your MA has to announce his arrival. My MA, Kyle was awesome, even coming in on his day off to deliver mine after his little fiasco at the VPC. It will work out guys. I know that offers little solace but when you get them you pretty much forget about what happened before and just ride, man ride!

edit: I know I have to get pics up but yesterday, Red dogpaddled thru his first downpour and is filthy.(but he loved it. we got into the garage and he just shook and got all the water off! lol) Now I'll wait because the tint goes on Sat but theyr'e coming!

edit #2: PS the O.L. still shows he's still in the VPC. Never did make it to the dealer. I wonder if they'll just erase it or will finally show he's "at the dealer" hahaha!

Well we are making progress for week 29er's. I didn't want to expose my paparazzi pic of Bill's ride before checking with his agent. MiniMax, you better get those pics posted as we need to see Red.

I am working on getting red mirror caps today to fill the time before mine makes it here... hopefully by this weekend!

Sorry I haven't posted lately guys!! I've been enjoying Basil a little too much and neglecting my grading (which was up to a huge pile!)....so I had to push aside the internet until I got all caught up. Grading is by far my least favorite portion of my job, I wish my school would let me hire a Teacher's Aid..

Bill-Congrats on getting that Mini tommorrow, that was cool of Stomprocket to be able to snap that covert pic for you! Have fun motoring this weekend!

So do any of you plan on attending any Mini events in the upcoming year?? Or have you already (MiniMaxx??)

2nd day of heavy rain. Heavy t-storms, hail but none around Red while I'm at work. Red's filthy but I think he loves the rain! Good news, he passed the leak test, the puddle test and everything else with flying colors. Pics after this wknd tint. No events yet. Dog whining, wants to go out. Later.

Awww...she's cute! I've got 2 pugs, one fawn his name is Lunchbox and one black one named Cash (still a puppy)..I've put a pic of them in my photo gallery too! Do you let you dog ride in your mini?? I've been looking for a good liner to put in the back of my mini so the dogs can ride with me...but the only one I've found that I really like was 275 bucks! That's a little much!

Nakita goes everywhere we go. Once the back seats go down they never come back up. I'm seriously thinking about the Rear seat delete kit. Yeah, I saw those prices. What a rip! I accomplished the same thing for $12. I got a black movers blanket from Harbor Freight (just google it). Fold it in half lenght wise and its the perfect width, then fold it under about 2/3 of the way and it covers the whole length of the back. Voila, you have your $225 "Custom MINI Pet Blanket" tm The pugs will love it back there. Just use your car wash drying towel when your almost done and its wet for those unsightly nose prints on the back windows.

Picked up the MINI today! Put on a quick 100 miles with smiles. Everything is more than I imagined. Saught out a nice twisty section of road I knew about on the way back to the office after picking up the MINI and had to run through it a couple of times. Here are some pictures:

I really like how the hyper blue dash and doors turned out.

Looking forward to more posts with photos and more miles with twisties and smiles.

I love the dash color, that turned out pretty nifty! Don't you just love those twisties! The rally lights are pretty nice too! I've got a set of PIAA's waiting to be installed (must hop to that)! Have fun this weekend!

Thanks Minimaxx! I feel like I left the room and the party was roaring along, only to return to some guy pushing a broom of all the confetti because everyone left!

Going to check the lot tomorrow and see if my car is in the back. It is supposed to arrive tomorrow or Monday, then a couple days to install tint and clear bra. By the end of the month for sure!

Hey StompRocket...I'm here. You're right, though, I haven't been on because I've been motoring. I haven't even taken many pics (just at the dealer and driving off) because you have to get out of the mini to take pictures of it.

Here are the two I took at the dealer (one with my wife and youngest son, and the other driving away from the dealer at 1:54 in the afternoon. Ya...Phoenix is hot this time of year...but not hot enough to keep me from motoring top-down all the way home via the scenic route (got a little sunburn to show for it, too). Unfortunately, I didn't think to take a picture of the odometer until I had driven off, so it shows 12 miles on it instead of the 11 it showed when I took delivery. Everyone will be glad to know that in the 36 hours since I got it, I've put about 200 miles on it. Now...I just need the break-in period to be over. I'll try to get some more pics soon.

Stomp...I hope your mini makes it soon. You are going to love it.

Bill~

mj...I really like the Hyper Blue as well...great choice. The body color interior is a very nice touch on these minis IMHO. Congrats on the new car.

Got my tint on Sat. and since I cant do much with the car while the tint is soft, I installed the rear bumper protector. It looks good. I had it on my 05 and it really finishes off the rear. As soon as everything sets, then I'm all set. Its supposed to be a nice day so maybe I'll get new pics up. I got to put some miles on though. I just feel like I'm sitting on a stick of dynamite. I run it up to 4500 rpm and you can just feel the JCW start to wake up but then you put it right back to sleep. Its going to be a stunner when I can finally wind it out thru the gears. I remember when I got past 1250 on my 05 and I took it out in the country and took it up to redline thru several gears and immediately you could feel that the engine had loosened up. I cant describe it accurately but you could feel it rev freer. Shuteye calls.

Bill,

That's awesome! I bet your son loves driving in it as well! Your car looks great, especially all cleaned up!

Have to get an excuse to... um... go to north Scottsdale today... yeah... um... errand to run. I actually have a rental car so I hope it gets there soon. Should be on the lot today or tomorrow.

(P.S. Stripes look good too!)

I bet it will be a screamer once you are able really rev the engine! Though patience and waiting a bit will make that all the sweeter!

OK, Tint pics are up in my gallery. The shots are not the best because I forgot to take it off the cool (blue) setting and I think I made the file size too small when I resized the photos but that means I'm learning! I'm finally figuring this new fangled digital photo stuff. Film, noo problem. I used to have a b+w darkroom but these 1's and 0's......man!

Tint looks nice. Is that an intenna mod on the car I see? I just painted some mirror caps chili red that I will install sometime after getting the car.
