(P.S. Stripes look good too!)
Great news that yours is almost here! Keep us posted (BTW...I love you color combo...especially the seats!). Get some pics up ASAP.

As for my son...the little one (he just turned 4), he calls it our "race car", and wants to ride in it as much as possible. The older two (also boys) love it as well. I just filled up for the first time...was nice to spend only $32 instead of around $50...even though my new engine and my driving style aren't getting the greatest mileage .

Good eye Stomp! Its hard to see in these low quality pics. I have the Alta Stubby. Looks good, no significant effect on reception.
Hey, its Monday. Yours better get here Today or we're all going to have to motor down to Scottsdale and "conversate" with your dealer. Here's hoping.

MiniMaxx- that antenna is cool..I also love the fact that you kept the chrome grill on your MCS...I'm such a big fan of that big chrome grill, I think it's such a bummer that the MCS's have it in the color of the body (but then some people feel the exact opposite of me ). I'm at 850 miles today..getting closer to being done with that break in period.
I finally loaded my dogs up and took them to the dog park yesterday. I just laid down the nice fleece blanket that the dealership sent me in the mail after my purchase and it worked perfect! My pug Lunchbox fit perfect in the little boot area, laying down he made himself very comfortable! Forget those expensive car liners!

Nada. I went by today with "real" camera in hand and saw them unloading some cars... but not mine. Spoke with my MA and he says he has no information other than it is out of the VDC awaiting transport. I'm sure they will do all they can to get it too me by the end of the month, but my work schedule is quickly filling up! (I got get my head back into work after tracking this car so long)

So, how's the new wheels? Or are you at home to enjoy it?

Ya...not at home. I'm in Colorado...but my wife hasn't touched her car since I left. My kids have become demanding about the little mini. My little 4 year old always demands to take, "ours race car", and my older boys (8) demands the top to be down...even in the heat of the day. So...my wife is gladly complying.

Well... no word yet on my car. The sales manager is placing some calls as a lot of MINI's they are expecting are not making it from the VDC to the dealer (about 10 right now). She got word back on 3 VIN numbers (mine being one of them) that they are not sure when they will be put on the truck. I immediately asked if there was damage they were repairing (I'm a little sensitive to that after others on the board). She said there is no indication as they usually have a "D" next to them if they do. So... they are telling me next week!

It's a bit frusterating, but I think I figured out why at the end of the month so many MINI's aren't making it... If given the choice (BMW) to ship an $80k 7 series BMW or a MINI... well they get more money at the end of the month to ship the high dollar cars. The cars exit BMW as a sale and enter the dealer inventory to carry. That's my theory and it seems collaborated by the dealer as this happens at the end of the month! So much for my car being sold and it being a high priority! Oh well... it gets here when it gets here.

Anyone checked out the new VW's??!

You know the "5"s they always plead with you to give them on their satisfaction surveys..........? -5 sounds like a fair mark!

Yeah, they are starting out in a bit of a hole! They are going to have to work pretty hard to get to the "perfect" score. Meanwhile, I have about a dozen people asking me every week what the status is. It doesn't bode well that I can't be a good reference at this point.

I wish I did. However, a couple days ago I talked with the sales manager and she was checking on the status. Yesterday, I learned that the car doesn't show any problems (like being damaged, etc.) but they have a handful of cars that have gotten pushed back from being put on the truck. In fact as I walked the back lot thier have been very few MINI's that have been delivered. So... I am scheduled to have my car delivered to the dealer on 9/5. So delivery to me on 9/6 or 9/7?? I'm still holding out hope it might show up today (I'm told that sometimes happens... in my case it would surprise me!).

The sad part is... it will have taken longer to get from L.A. to Phoenix than Southampton, UK to L.A.

Stomp........ . I'm mad for you, well, not MAD for you, you know what I mean! At least there turned out to be a reason for my delay....the scratch they fixed. (It looks perfect ). Keep the pressure on. They can find out the reason if they really try!

I appreciate the sympathy! I thought about forwarding them every phone call I get from friends and family asking where my car is! It's strange, but I am always a little more frusterated in rush hour traffic when I DON'T see an accident or some reason the traffic is backed up. I would at least like to know if someone parked my car in the back 40 of the lot at the VPC and they have to move 100 cars to get to it. Looks like MINI in the UK has it together... it's MINI stateside that is lacking!

Maybe I should give everyone the dealers number and we could all call them!

PEOPLE! We've fallen to page 2 again. That can only mean one thing: .....errr..two things: Either we're Motoring or we're Waxing. I was in group two this weekend. I was a rubbin' fool! Now I need shades to look at Red who's sporting 2 coats of Meguiars NXT generation Tech Wax (paste) Man... the Chili red is so deep and dark! Of course, its supposed to rain the next two days but I figure if I drive fast enough (within the speed limit ) that none of the rain will stick to Red. I also put on a couple of hundred miles driving the Dawg around looking for good off-leash running spots. I'm around 750 miles, 500 to go. Nakita (the dawg) learned to ride in my PW/B. I don't have to worry about her off the line or in the twisties. She just knows how to lean. I've never seen her grab the sissy strap. So anyway;
Roll Call! Sound Off; what are you guys doing?

Finally got back from my trip and drove around a bit this weekend. Mostly spent it doing work around the house, unfortunately. I did carve out a little time to do some touch-up work on the shine of my mini as we have had a bit of rain down here in the Southwest lately.

Anyway, I had to take a buddy home tonight (just around the corner), and the night was SOOOO nice for top down motoring, I just couldn't go straight home...so I took the "scenic" route...about 10 miles to get a couple blocks. I couldn't resist. Just wished I'd had less work to do and more time to motor. Still here, though, Miniaxx.

Checking in here. I spent the weekend polishing the painted mirror caps for my soon-to-be-here MINI (my first mod). I have camera in hand today as the car should arriving today

MiniMaxx - I love that NXT wax! I know there are many in other camps on the wax, but it is so easy to use that I will probably wax more often!

Bill - Weather is awesome right now for top down driving (except when it is raining!)
