Crischun, for your spreadsheet, there are a few changes to my entry:

Ordered: 6/6/06
Dealership: Sterling BMW in Sterling, VA
Completed: 7/4/06

I would also be willing to bet that neverfifty's dealserhip is also Sterling as there is no Mini dealership in Manassas. There are 3 total in VA: Sterling, Richmond and VA Beach.

Well kids,

We have 5 hours before the Medea leaves port. No VIN info for me yet. Not sure what to think. Hopefully they load the MINIs towards the last.

I thought maybe my VIN would show up as "scheduled to board" or similar.

What was the process/sequence for those of you who have already been through this.

I CAN'T STAND THE PRESSURE.

Built 1 week ago - still at the port

I just spoke with Marty at Customer Relations who said my MINI is still sunning itself at the port. It was built on 7/10 and at the port on 7/11. Interestingly, he said there are 2 shipping companies that service the East coast, WW and NYK. The NYK site does not seem to allow for customer tracking as does WW. He said my car should be on a boat before the end of the week. It looks like the next WW ship, the Liberty, departs for Charleston, SC on Friday. Impatiently waiting.....

I hear ya! Mine has been at the port since 7/7 and no boat for me yet. Crossing my fingers big time that I'll be on the Medea today. But it leaves port in 4 hours and no info yet.

Maybe they WILL or HAVE shipped it on an NYK vessel. Although there's no on-line tracking, I've heard that if you get the Bill of Lading number from your MA, you can call and ask.

There's just NO info at this point and it's making me CRAZY!!!! :impatient

For the spreadsheet...

Crishchun:

My completion date was 6/29/06 and my port of entry was NY. And still waiting...... :impatient

If I can't pick it up this weekend I am going to seriously have to fight an urge to drive to the VDC myself just to go stare at it. They will have to do any additional work with me sitting in the driver's seat...

Hey Christian,

I've been posting in the week 28 thread so I don't think you've seen my updates. My mini was completed on the 13th (although it was in 'final QA' all day Friday) and got to Southampton on Saturday. I'm booked on the Manon departing tomorrow (7/18) and due to hit NY on 7/27.

Updated! Thanks.

You know, I live about 45 minutes away from Jersey City. If it weren't for work, I'd drive over there and snap some pictures for ya.

EDIT: OK, I still haven't found the site, but was able to get some info. by poking around the firsynyj website. It appears as though the Patriot is at The Port Newark/Elizabeth-Port Authority Marine Terminal complex right now, and was at the PA Auto Marine Terminal yesterday (see the map here - http://www.panynj.gov/DoingBusinessW...onal_port.html). But I don't know at which location MINIs are unloaded, as both have automobile processing centers! Beauregard, do you know? Anybody? --- Hmmm, it appears I might need to wake up a little more this morning. According to the above link, the BMW of America's prep center is at the PA Auto Marine Terminal. So hopefully those MINIs on the Patriot were unloaded yesterday!!!
Turcicus, how did you figure out that Patriot had been to two different terminals?

Edit: You can still see Patriot listed at www.firstnynj.com, just change the "Dates From/To:" back to yesteday or earlier.

Starting to hit bottom.

Well, the Medea sails in 2 hours. No blip with the VIN. Would be very surprised if I make it. Unfortunately that would likely mean no west coasters will be on it either.

Going to call my MA to find out if he knows anything a la being shipped via NYK.

Crossing my fingers...heading out now. Bye y'all.

When I looked at the map yesterday, it was located at a dock east of where it is today (on this map - http://www.panynj.gov/DoingBusinessW...onal_port.html - it was at what they have labeled the Auto Marine Terminal). Then today I looked and it had moved through that little inlet to the Port Newark/Elizabeth area. Originally I thought I was hallucinating, but when I checked it's schedule at the WW site, it had two separate New York entries for 7/16 and 7/17. The 7/16 entry was in red, meaning it had already left. EDIT: And for some reason, the New York part of it's voyage is back to one entry!! I promise you, it was two this morning!! Man, you guys are going to think I'm crazy...

Red Scooter, check out this post: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...5&postcount=17

I came across this in searching for the link to that website I was looking for earlier this morning. I have no idea if it's true or not. Let's hope, for the sake of your mental health, that you can find out which ship you're on!

YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME! Well Turcicus...you have given me some hope...again. Thanks buddy!

Now if my MA weren't out today. Arrrgghh! But the new Sales Manager is my old MA. Maybe she could help me. She is SO swamped with the new job though. Well, it's worth a try! Thanks again for the wee bit of hope!

Let's hope this is true! It would be provide some relief for the West coasters--but at the same time not since no tracking is available.

On a Boat!

Wooooooo Hoooooooooo!

My MA just told me that Firecracker is on an NYK boat headed for home.

Here's the info in a crischun friendly format:

Departure Date: July 16th
Vessel: Auto Banner
Projected Arrival Date: August 9th

And my MA said that MINI uses three different shipping companies, K-Line, WW, and NYK.

Mine too.

Christian, you better start updating that spreadsheet 'cause the Patriot has landed and [discharged] some vehicles.

My MA just called me a few minutes ago and said it usually takes them three days to get the car to the dealer (MINI of Sterling) after it is offloaded and usually one day to turn it around at the dealership (depending on accessories). He didn't want to be so presumptious as to set up a pick up date yet. Three days sounds might optimistic to me but we shall see.

Another BIG WOOO-HOOO!!!

I'm in the astrochex shipping situation.

Called my MA. My MINI left YESTERDAY on the Auto Banner an NYK ship!

Arrrggh! I wish they had online tracking or SOMETHING that said "You westies ain't goin' on WW!"

Anyway, I got my Voyage # and my Bill of Lading # starting with NYK....right when she said "NYK..." I knew what had happened.

So, he left yesterday and will arrive at Port Hueneme on 8/10 (the same date...I think) as if he was on the Madame Butterfly.

So, I can finally BREATHE.

JAKE is on his way across the pond! YES! YES! YES!
