Welcome back Jayne!! Sooo glad you got Gypsy back and had a good experience at the dealer. (and thanks for the update - nice to see I may not be the only one left)

Well, looks like Scootr's scheduled for his first major change in plans... I was talking to Mike at Aesthetic Creations (great guy, by the way!) and after many changes in plans for my boot stripe install at MITM it's turned out now to be (inspired in part by Leilani) - totally rip off the OEM bonnet stripes, install black flower print stripes on bonnet and boot, and frosty flower stripes on the black roof - I can picture it already and now I really can't wait for MITM!!! But do you think this will make Scootr a sissy? Is a sex and name change in order? Scootr's name has felt so right since the day it came to me but now it suddenly seems out of place - may have to be a middle name now!

As for the boxes with the secret decoders, I wonder if I'll even get one since I don't actually have my MINI yet? Just in case I've already got an ad from Maxim provided by a friend...

Glad to hear you got Gypsy back. I'm guessing everything with Gypsy is great now. Have fun motoring, cuz you still have to break Gypsy in.

i got my box last week. I've had Sylvia for 3 weeks today.

Uh-oh... bucking!

So I've had my car for a little over a week now, and I've had this happen a few times: only in 1st gear so far, my car will suddenly starting bucking, even with an even, steady pressure on the accelerator. I take my foot off the clutch AND the gas, and my car takes a few seconds to steady itself before things go back to normal. Has anyone else had this happen? I searched NAM for "bucking" and found information on a stumble and a yo-yo problem, but it seems like those should have been resolved even for '05 models, and I have an '06... Someone else seemed to indicate that it can be caused by ASC. So I'm going to try turning that OFF this week and see if the problem happens again or not.

Boo! :impatient

Hi All,

It's been a while...work,weddings, more work. Anyway, after a week-long setback involving our trade-in and some scratches on our Mini before we took delivery, we finally have our car!

And wow! I must say, I didn't think I'd enjoy the car this much. We love this car! I have no pictures (yet) and don't have any tricked out mods like so many of you (unless you count a dog barrier). But I hated seeing my name on Jayne's list with a "?", so here's the info Jayne!

BRG/W, took delivery on 7/22 in MINIsota!

Congratulations Sundray - it's always nice to have another week 23er on the road.

Cooperminis - they must be saving the best for last. Let us know when you pick up Scootr

I got the same package on Saturday. I like the car signs, cute idea.

I have had a bucking problem three times in second gear, rpm's were up, everything seemed good, but bucking non the less, is how I would describe it, I did the same thing, and it did steady itself. I was low on gas at the time, and thought maybe that had something to do with it, since i have filled up, I have not had the problem.

Cooperminis - your stripes sound wonderful! Can't wait to see pics. And no, Skootr won't be a sissy - who say's Skootr is a boys name anyway? Maybe she's a tomboy!!

I haven't received any presents from MINI yet - can't wait!

Thanks miniprof - it's just crazy the things I worry about while I'm waitin for this MINI!!!

What a drag for you Minitenango and Pancakex... I seem to remember reading other posts about the bucking, and from what I can recall the general consensus was bad fuel/summer fuel. Maybe try a different station Pancakex? Good luck either way...

Hmm.. well, I would think that's not my problem, since it happened once right after I'd filled up at the gas station.

I think it may be related to the ASC, because I think on both occasions that it's happened, I've been turning my wheels while pulling away. I went for a drive last night with ASC turned off (but it turns it RIGHT back on the next time you turn the car on!) and didn't have any problems. Hopefully this will solve my problem. Otherwise... I guess I'll be bothering my poor, poor local dealer. They'll have to put up with me bothering them in the show room then. Heheheh...

Hmm, summer fuel, eh? I usually fill up at Chevron, however the last time I got gas, it was at a Shell station I believe. Another test to try: after keeping ASC off to see if that's what causing it, maybe I should try leaving ASC on and trying different gas stations.

One thing I did notice was that out in Utah, the "premium" gas was only 91 octane. Out here in Seattle 92 seems to be the norm. That's what I filled up with yesterday, anyway, so hopefully my appreciates it.

Maybe mine was the gas the dealer put in the tank originally and not being low on fuel? I filled up at a Shell and that was the first time I used that gas, I have not had a problem since I filled up with the Shell 93 oct gas. My bucking occured once on a straight away after I shifted into second and twice on turns when I downshifted into second and started accelerating. I hope it is just the gas, if the Shell seems good, I think I will stick with it.

see cooperminis, not all of us can go for MITM. I would like to go for that, but a little too far at the moment. I don't have that much vacation time right now.

Hit a couple curves for me!

Hello friends,

Any of you week 23er's change your oil yet? Nigel is about to pass the break in mileage and I'm thinking of changing the oil and filter myself. Doesn't look terribly hard. I don't want the dealer to do it and reset the service interval. 35 miles to go and counting

Hey Cooperminis.

Have fun at MITM. Don't forget to break in your car as prescribed. That 4500k on the tach can come up pretty quickly. Enjoy and thanks for honoring your fellow week 23r's on the curves. What about shooting some video?
