Hey all, talked to my MA today and Scootr is at the dealership!!! Just 2 wks and 2 days left till our first date (me 'n Scootr, that is).

I'm having the intake scoop trim painted black, have set up my appt for boot stripe install at MITM, and am trying to find a good clearbra installer in Denver so Scootr won't get too dinged up on the way home. So much to do in my 3 days in CO! Then window tint my first day back in AZ.

Can you tell I'm excited? Oh man, the days are just DRAGGINGGGGGGGGG

Thanks to all for the compliments on Penelope's new style. Cooperminis - you're getting close now! Glad you're getting boot stripes - I think they're particularly adorable on PW.

herozup, tint looks good.

coopermini's, scootr is at the dealership and you still have to wait two weeks? what are you getting done? oh wait, that's cuz you took time off to trip over there.

I had to wait two weeks for Sylvia once she was at the dealership. But that was because she had the aero kit and the jcw spoiler installed. But man does she look good now. Definately worth the wait!

Sorry I haven't been on the forum. I have had a hectic week, after being on vacation for 2 weeks. (You can't imagine the backload of e-mail at work! ). I've had my MINI for a week now and have just broken 500 miles .

The MINI and I have had a wonderful time together. Here are a few pics:

I have been mulling over a few names but haven't nailed anything down yet. Mostly because I am still not convinced of the gender.

My MA told me he thought my MINI is a boy. And I agreed with him at first. But I am no longer sure about that.

What do you think?

Sweet ride, Anne! Pepper white is great

As for the name, maybe you should go with something unisex, like Sam?

Hi Anne,

Your car looks so nice...especially in its new home. Good luck with a name. Sometimes something happens as you're motoring along and a name will present itself. As for breaking in the car, I have nearly 700 and have been driving it daily. I'm planning a longer trip next week and hopefully will be past the "hold back" point. Congrats and enjoy your fine new ride

I need to change my dash as I ended up with the alloy patina (not my choice, but didn't want to wait for a reorder). Thinking of the JCW leather. Then a grill and some driving lights (fog version). I've been looking at your chrome grill and the aero grill on miniprof's PW. They're both really cool and either would look great on the DS.

For now, I'm pretty satisified with the performance so I don't feel a need to instantly go out and modify the factory settings. After all, it took a bunch of engineers years to get it working nicely

Cheers
Swizzle

Just thought I'd touch base since I haven't been on the boards in what seems like forever. Glad to see some new MINIs have made it home. I guess we're all out motoring because the posts have definitely slowed down. I know I'm guilty, but it feels good...

annewithane, great lookin pw. Maybe Pat would be a good unisex name. But for me, the MINI is automatically a girl. Prolly cuz i'm a guy.

So for everyone else... how many of you guys are past break in, and with how many miles? I'm at around 1700.

Hi Anne! It's good to have you back! LUUUUUVVV your MINI. I automatically thought "ooo, she's gorgeous", so I guess I viewed her as female. . .

I only have 350 miles on Penelope!! I am obviously in need of more motoring!

Nice to see some of the week 23 motorers checking back in!

Annewithane, your PW looks GREAT!!! So beautiful in your driveway - looks like a girlie to me, but you'll know for sure in time. I like the idea of a unisex name, then it'll work out no matter what it turns out to be.

Herozup, thanks for the look at your tint... It really looks nice and gives me a gauge to go by.

Swizzle... oooh!! ooooh!! I vote leather dash!!! I want that soooo bad, but it will probably be quite some time down the road for me.

Here's my latest dilemma, hope you all can help... As mentioned earlier I'm getting boot stripes at MITM, and will also putting pinstripes on the outside of all stripes a'la BoCRon https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...bonnet+stripes (LOVE it!) The other thing I'm thinking of doing is putting 'matching' PW stripes on the roof - whaddya think?:impatient

Only about 375 miles on Minitenango, just filled up for the first time yesterday and calculated 30 mpg all city driving! Not too bad, but I do drive like a grandma!

Hmmm, somewhere on the boards I saw a CR/B with black bonnet/boot stripes and white on the roof. It looked really good. I think you would find the thread if you search "sport stripes". We added a royal blue pinstripe to our black stripes and I love it. Gives it just a little "zip" of color.

my first few tanks I was only getting about 22 - 23 mpg. Just cuz every gear pretty much wound up at 4000 rpm's.

Now i'm gettin about 27-28 mpg with mixed mostly highway driving.

I just figured out how to make the obc display something other than the outside temperature ( ) and noticed that I'm getting 29.something mpg. Not too shabby! Not as good as our Civic, but I'd rather drive the MINI, because it's way more fun!

Hi all! WOW we have some BEAUTIFUL week 23 MINI's motoring on!
Love them all.....have to go back & update soon. Keep those photos coming! Congrats to Maryanne, Kim & Anne.

I have been trying to stay away from the forums. I've been down in the dumps a bit since the engine light thingy, not really driving it much....I finally got in for my appointment today. Bad news is I have a cracked gas tank!!!!!!!!!!!! My SA think it's a factory defect, says she never saw this before. Once they dropped it they found the crack on the top. They had to get one in, so I had to leave it until Saturday Good news is I have a Silver S convertable until then! It had 345 miles on it when I left the dealer, LESS than mine, I'm at appx 500!

Oh Jayne, that soooo sucks... but don't get discouraged. At least you've got a great ride while your baby gets back on track (my dealer doesn't provide a loaner, let alone a MINI loaner). Saturday isn't too far away, and remember, some of us haven't even had the joy of motoring yet at all!

Keep your chin up!

well Jayne, it's at least good to hear from you. Your MINI will be better.

Here's a salute to your MINI and getting better.

Meanwhile have some fun in the convertible.

Yeah, me too. All the new MINIs look so sweeeet!...I now have about 800 miles on the Coopster. I had to take him in to get the front scoop stripe put on and to fix a loose trim piece. The service was great. When I arrived for my service appointment I was greeted. The then gave me a voucher for a rental car. The shuttle driver was standing next to me as I was handed the paperwork (no wait for the shuttle to the rental car place). The Hertz rental car lot was only 2 blocks away and the got me a rental car for free. Well it did cost me less than $8.00, but that included a whole tank of gas(I used half). The work was done as promised. Coopster now has his front scoop stripe on!.... I gave the service manager a compliment when I picked him up.
