Wow, that tint looks wicked! I saw a few posts on putting a limo tint on the sunroof. I'm going to look into that. Does the clearbra also cover your lights? Overall, Sylvia is looking sharp.

Free lifetime and a $50 gift certificate... wow, that's just incredible.

I haven't received anything else from the dealer so far except for the free floor mats. It was only supposed to be front floor mats but it seems I got the rear ones thrown in as well. They didn't say anything about it, I just happened to notice.
Free car washes? $50 Gift Certificate? Free Floormats? Am I getting jipped? I think I got some free air inside the car. Oh wait, I got a keychain!

Bluminiboy, that tint looks great! What % is your tint? We can go up to 20% on the side windows here, but I'm worried it will feel to dark from the inside. Any suggestions?

and I can't really even see the clearbra line you spoke of - great job...

Annewithana and thewizard of odd, how exciting - must be hard to sleep now!

Tint is 5%. Clear bra is on all of the lights as well. Also included is door cups, side skirts, door edges, mirrors, bottom of tailgate, and rear bumper protection on the top part of it.

cooperminis, in the daytime the tint is great. There is no sun inside the car. At night time, the only time the tint can be in the way is if you are on a street with no lights and you have to look out the side for some reason. Other than that, i have no problems with it. I've had it on a previous car like that as well. I think the dark tint sets off the space blue very well or any other color for that matter, since all the pillars are all black.

Yeah.. don't be overwhelmed by those guys in the detailing section. Most of them are crazy.

If I am understanding, there are auto shampoos that can be used in between waxing that won't remove the wax? So weekly, I could wash with shampoos that don't remove the wax to keep clean, then when i notice the water not beading up, it's probably time to reapply the wax and can use something like dawn (noted discussion about use of dawn vs claying) to make sure it is all off, then start again. But what about multiple coats of wax? can you use the auto shampoos and reapply wax to keep the wax up a bit longer or wax on a bi weekly basis without removing the original wax?
Yes.. (from my experience) multipe coats of wax work well. I would recommend claying the car when you do want to get the paint baby butt smooth. If you have never clayed a car before it is an amazing expereince. There are also some "Quick Wax" products that you can use. I use many Griots products. Here is a link. Read the description.

I would also recommend their "Speed Shine" or as I call it "Miracle Juice". It is the 'same' as Meguiar's Quick Detailer.

As long as your car doesn't get rained on I recommend a good wipe down with a California Duster and Speed Shine and you will be looking like you just waxed it.

I think I know what MINI uses but I can't think of the name. My buddy has a bottle, I will look when I go to his house tonight. I think I noticed it in one of those "watch you car come down the line" videos.

You can probably wax over it with no problem.

I bought the California Duster over the weekend and LOVE it. Penelope gets really dusty and the California Duster is great for a quick clean. Wish I could clean my house that fast!

Thanx, MiniMaxx! Here is another pic of Sylvia from today. There was a lot of sun out today, so I had to do it.

I would guess that the new babies are out for a little stroll.

Sylvia is one dead sexy ride. Don't you wish you were driving right now?

Thanks for thinking of me miniprof! Scootr hasn't even made it to the dealer yet... And when he does get there he's going to have to wait for me for just a bit - but exactly 3 weeks from today I'll be MOTORING! Problem is the days just aren't going by fast enough.

But a friend of mine had a little present all wrapped up and waiting for me today at the office - my own copy of The Italian Job! Since I've not seen it before I'm anxious to spend an evening soaking it all in.

Hope you all are having a great time out there motoring, just don't forget about us 'back in the forum'! Love seeing those pics and dreaming of the day...

what a thoughtful friend! That's awesome! 3 weeks isn't bad. It just feels like it when the days are crawling by. But Scootr will be sooo worth it.

Hey, Penelope is at MINI of Murray today getting her sports stripes. When I go pick her up I'll look around for your car! Astro Black - what color roof? Anything else?
