Hey, did everyone else have tiny holes in their front bumper when they picked their car up even after they told the dealership NOT to drill holes? I was told that these "guide holes" were there when they got it. I was going to try to avoid mounting the front plate to avoid drilling into the bumper, but now it seems a little pointless....

I have some little indents that are painted over. I think they are guides where you are suppose to drill the holes. I asked my dealer not to put the front plate stuff on, and they didn't.

Yeah, it sounds like somewhere along the line, holes WERE drilled. I was thinking just yesterday that it didn't make sense to have "guide holes". It makes SENSE to have divets. Well, that sucks! They are really small, though, so they aren't too noticeable. Now I wonder if I should just go with the normal front plate mount I got that's just sitting in the boot, or shell out the $50 for a no-holes mount. Seems kind of pointless since I've already GOT holes.

Sorry

"Once was lost but now I'm found!"

Offline for the past 10 days but glad to be back

Picked up MI-KNEE day before I left town and she's waiting patiently for my return this evening. Took some pix before I left. Hope they turn out OK when posted.

Note the two 'monkeys' and how big their smiles are.....that's Sam(antha) and Ben....hence my login name

Nice, I see you have the JCW. You will love it more once you get past break in!

I do see a vehicle with at least a sport kit behind your MINI. Is that an AMG vehicle I'm seeing?

Hi all,

We also ordered our car in May and it was scheduled for Week 23. It was delivered to us 8 days ago over at Bob Smith Mini on Pkwy Calabasas in the San Fernando Valley. Kirsten Lobetta was our salesperson and although she didn't make a dime on our car (I work for BMW) she was very pleasant and super helpful.

Ours is an 06 MCS in ChiliRed/White top with black leather and anthracite grey dash and headliner...

Chumley - Leilani looks great! I really like the stripes and roof graphic.

Sam.Ben - beautiful car, beautiful children. Love the cool blue. Will this be Samantha's car when she's old enough? She looks pretty happy behind the wheel!

Eric - Welcome! Pics please???

Jayne - hope your Gypsy comes home happy and well today. Poor Gypsy!

Cooperminis - how are you doing? Still hanging in? It's getting very very close!!

Yes, as you can now plainly see, I am somewhat addicted to finely "tuned" autos. That is an E55 Station Wagon....innocent enough looking but 469 hp make it quite the grocery getter The funny thing is, my wife and I will likely fight now more over who drives the MINI as opposed to who drives 'the beast'

Eric

I also got mine at Bob Smith and Kirsten was my MA as well. She was wonderful to work with and very knowledgable about MINIs (and just got her own last month as well)

I would too. e55 is a beast in a straight line, but MINI is fast and fun around corners and gets better gas mileage too unless ur cruising on the highway with the e in 7th gear.

Yes, still hangin in there! It sure is hard tho, 10 days left and counting. I think I may be the only week 23er left without a MINI!

Hey Chumley, Leilani is HOT! Are your graphics the work of Aesthetic Creations? I'm having Mike do some work on Scootr at MITM.

..and Sam.Ben, quite a little gem there - and now that you have her, how does it feel?

Yeehaw! I'm back

With a big smile on my face!!!!!!!!!!!

First I'll update about me..... then the list! Sorry I have been so lax.

I have Gypsy back & am having a ball! The vert loaner was great, but there's nothing like your own baby! One thing I realized is I kept my headliner light grey & am really glad I did...the vert was a bit claustrophobic after the lightness. It rained all days I had the vert except for the day I took it back...BUT it was a blast driving the 1.5 hours to the dealer with the top down WHEEEEEEEE!

The dealership.... MCM ...in Detroit was awesome! I was worried as I bought it from Classic in Mentor, OH. My SA couldn't have been nicer. Two thumbs up! I bought the boot mat to match the floor mats, completes the look.

Got a little package

Today I received a little box from MINI. It got some cute stuff in it, although most of it is stuff thats fun to look at but has no use. It contains an ink pin, some cards with messages on them, a "motoring diary", etc. Anyone else receive this? I've read posts of others receiving different surprises in the mail. Are they random based on where you purchased or do we all get this little package I got today?

Hi Jayne,

Glad you got Gypsy back. I too went for the lighter color headliner because I didn't want to be in the dark all the time.

I got my welcome to the neighborhood kit yesterday (black box #1). I love this kind of stuff even though I may never use all of it. The unofficial guide has a lot of laughs inside. Still waiting for black box #2 which contains the secret decoder for the new ad campaign. It's just great being part of this community.

We got three waves on Saturday. It was soooo cool. I have also waved and got some weird looks. Obviously not NAM members.

No packages yet either... darn post man.

Happy Motoring!!

How long did it take from the time you got your car to the time you got your gift boxes in the mail from MiniUSA?

Curious...
Thanks,
