Just signed up having bought a 2006 R53 a few weeks ago. Have driven plenty of minis in the past, both ‘Old’ Minis (first 5 cars) and R50/R53 generation as I worked for Ricardo my the UK (co-developed the R50/R53 when BMW sold Rover group).
Anyway, really enjoying my car, R56 brake mod on the way and will see where things go from there.
Cheers,
James

Reason: Typo
Car was formerly run by Mithril Racing at Goodwood giving punters a MINI driving experience. Has done 38k miles, presumably a large percentage on track, and I am hoping its former life won't impact too badly upon reliability etc going forward! Was well maintained during that period... going to keep telling myself that..!
And as for running MINIs on the track, they are pretty durable from what I have seen, especially one that is a 2005 (or ‘06 as the ‘05 & ‘06s have best reliability), appears to not have been modified and is a S, not a JCW (lower HP in the S=less wear). I have a friend who tracked his 2003 JCW. Last I knew it had over 250k miles on it with no major issues. Just replacement of normal wear parts. As long as the oil has been changed regularly I would think you will be fine.
Keep us updated.

Hi and welcome to NAM!
Congrats on your 06 MCS! The best first generation BMW model made! Also my favorite year!
It is a great looking beastie! and made for the twisty roads!
I am confident the car has been looked after, the chap who ran the track experience company is a personal friend and I know how he looks after cars.
No mods to date, though I got the Dension 300 fitted at the weekend and have most of the bits together for an R56 S brake upgrade, just waiting on discs and pads.
