New Mini Owner...well new to me.

Hello all,

Just got a 2012 Mini Countryman S All4. Love it. Luckily I bought an extended warranty when I bought it....as it is already in the shop after a few k miles for repairs (turbo, temp sensor)

Regardless, I love the car. British Racing Green, panoramic sunroof with black an chrome trim. The drive is great, the cup holders are an abomination.

I am glad to join the Mini community.

Frank

Welcome.

BRG, cool! Nice looking car. (you might want to take the NISSAN tag off the front)

Motor On!

Hi and welcome to the NAM family, Frank!
It is good to have a warranty, as it saves in the long run, but for wear parts, you are on your own, so keep that in mind and save a bit for an unknown problem that could crop up.
These are really great cars all in all!
Where's the pics?

Aftermarket. I bought a warranty when I bought the car used. They agreed to replace the turbo, but would not pay full price for the Mini manufactured one with so many aftermarket options available.

The price difference was significant and I chose not to pay it.

I talked with the mechanic and they did a complete inspection and were impressed. I asked what brand and they said it arrived shrink wrapped with no brand ID.

The aftermarket ones can be better, it all depends on the bearing type used. The factory one is not a great one, by any means!
I wish you the best with your new to you Mini and hope you will keep us posted!
Remember: Drive it like you stole it and find out what it can do! you will be pleased!

This car is a blast. All I wanted. I will likely do some mods eventually but not until the Warranty expires.....

Welcome, Thats good the thermostat has been changed, there was a warranty extension by MINI for the turbo on the N18, did you check to see:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ranty-n18.html

But I guess you already have that extended warranty on the full car.
