So today after driving a few miles, i noticed the traction light comes on when accelerating on the highway overpass. Just start happening with the new wheels/tires...there was definitly no slippage or traction loss..any suggestions?

nice ride, looks sharp.

I ordered the same wheels back in April, they still haven't come in yet uhh! What part of the world are you in? What made you go with those tires? I was looking at them or the Michelin Pilot Sports.

Each axle has a pulse generator with a sensor.
Check each wheel that the cable hasn't been damaged by the installer.

One each front and rear wheel will have 2 cables, one is a brake wear sensor.

Also check your brake fluid level, that will trigger a DCS light fault.

It happens. My wife said no MINI for us, but I convinced her to test drive the Clubman S All4 and, after a few blocks she said she thought this just might be our next car. We love it more than our very much loved Jag XK, which was a stunning performance cruiser.

How the cars are spec'd out can make a big difference but, as your experience demonstrates, these niche cars aren't for everyone.

Still lovin' ours -- hope you find something you can love.

Can you let us know specifically what it is about your MINI that doesn't resonate with you?

You can't compare ANY mini to a porsche turbo, that is just crazy talk. That's beyond comparing apple's to oranges.

Go get a VW Golf R, then either get a JB4 or a tune for it. It will be right up there with the performance from your Porsche and be very practical.

Interesting discussion here:

As an aside, on more than one occasion I have remarked at how much the handling of our Clubman S All4 reminds us of our 912 from decades ago. Interesting.

I could understand going from a Cayman to a Mini, that is a much smaller gap depending on what Mini you go with, but a Turbo S? No way in hell.

I appreciate all the comments..i am by no means comparing the two..the turbo S is in a league of its own, hands down best car ive owned. The mini was more or less an impulse buy as i took a walk thru the dealer with my 5 year old son who insisted we buy one. I always hear that mini's are like big go karts so i thought the jcw would be fun daily driver. Well, to be honest, it was not fun for me. It is underpowered and feels disconnected from the road...perhaps a golf R or Focus RS would have been the better choice

I'm just curious what you got for the JCW in trade or sale outright? I've seen how much depreciation is on these cars when barely broken in. Hopefully that will level out over time.

I also have an all black JCW and one thing is for certain it's a stealth car....very much under the radar. You might miss that feature if you get back into a Porsche! LOL!

It's a personal thing of course, but I absolutely love my MINI! It truly makes me smile just as much as my other older vintage cars, like my BMW E30 M3! They both make me smile big time. I don't compare, I just enjoy them for what they are.

I have a Focus RS also, now that's a fun car!! you have to do a ton of mods to get the JCW mini to feel right in my opinion. So I did! not everyone can do that, and it can be a challenge if you need warranty work done. I kinda knew that when I was going into it. but never the less. I never owned a mini, and wanted to own some of the most fun cars to drive in the world, I'm still glad I made my decision. Your son may have not known all of this, but then again he's is not far off the mark.

My pics for Fun cars to drive: (stock or with mild mods)
(family friendly) for your sons enjoyment

Focus RS
Shelby GT350
Dodge Hellcat
Nissan GTR

This is so interesting. I feel completely opposite. I think as a daily driver jcw has just right amount of power (if not too much for me) and feel.

On the road of life there are drivers and passengers. Some just don't get it.
