Been a good Day... MA scheduled pickup this Saturday morning @ 9:45 and My vanity Plate "Sheldon" was approved by the State as they cashed my check and wrote Sheldon across the top.

Now I need the car to get delivered to the dealer by Friday so they can prep it for Saturday. The good news, my dealer is in Hartford just a 3 hour tour from the S.S. Minnow. The second item is nice to have. Love to have the new license plate arrive so it can be attached the same day.....

Hope to have pictures to post sometime Saturday. Been exactly 9 weeks from start to finish with a 2 week shutdown in between for the holiday

These last few days will drag. Time will undoubtedly pass slowly until your MINI arrives at the dealership. Celebrate hard when you grasp the Holy Grail on MINI Delivery Day, SC!

Thanks! I do hope your roadie arrives no later then 10/5 and really wishing it sneaks it a day earlier for you. It has been a long haul but the production tracking and this thread have been helpful to make the time pass. Toughest stretch for me was the "Holiday".

Congrats Sheldon on your pending delivery. Sure seems longer than 9 weeks!

If your MA scheduled your delivery on Saturday, he/she must be pretty certain it's going to be delivered on Friday, so no need to worry. However, if your state's DMV is anything like Illiniois, you may get lucky and get your vanity plate delivered in time for a Christmas gift. : )

Last I saw it was showing an updated arrival date of October 4th :(

 

I just check the shipping website. It DOES say now 4 Oct arrival to CA. My wife won't stop saying "I want our Mini!!!"

 

Thanks! So far CT DMV has been pretty spot on with timing and the plate is no longer showing as available on the website. So counting on it coming in the mail within the next week. If it comes at xmas will be eating my words

Thanks for posting the update. Hopefully they come off he ship and go right on car carriers for the trip north by Friday. I will be happy when I see her steaming away from NYC that's when we know the delivery has been completed!

Thanks for providing that link! My Mini's status was waiting for transport, but I followed that link and checked my VIN, to find that my Clubman S is actually on a ship (Carmen). Still a long journey ahead...but it's getting closer!

Glad to hear you have a ship. You can track the Carmen on the marine traffic site identified in "First Gear", at least until she heads deep into the Atlantic and moves out of range. Track her again when she nears the American coastline. My ship, the Torino, is well into her Atlantic voyage and is outside normal tracking. She is due in Baltimore on October 2nd at 4:00 AM EST. We'll see how long it takes at the VDC before making the one hour drive to Sterling, VA.

Amen, my friend. I plan on sticking with the thread. Stories vary from order to order, each with their own quirks. Once you've read the travails of future buyers, you can slip into the garage, breath a sigh of relief, fire up the turbo of your own MINI, and motor on!

 

Tell your MA to send you a current screen shot on your vehicle from www.dealerspeed.net . If he/she won't it will reflect on their evaluation. That is the most up-to-date information available! I have tried to get into this site but it is restricted information.

 

Sounds cool. I'll e-mail my MA for a screen shot. My Roadster is at sea and due in Baltimore 10/2 at 4:00 AM EST, per the marine traffic site (before the Torino moved out of tracking range).

My username is Lyfisin and I are addicted to checking the status of my Mini ordered Sept 16th, 2013.

Thanks to all of you who have posted such great info on how to keep track of everything as they go through the different stages of ordering, building and delivery.
