Thanks CR. Before today I had only driven a MINI on a test drive. Driving home I put about 50 on it. Why does it seem like everyone wants to crash into my MINI?

Wasn't sure if there was some sort of tracking system for haulers. Was hoping for one actually...

Good to know it takes a few days at the VDC. I suspect the transport from Halifax to my dealer in Ottawa probably takes at least 1 week. Then a few days of prep at the dealer before pick-up?! Can't wait!

I want to tint the windows and maybe black out the headlight and grill trim. We'll see, no hurry though. She'll be just as fun to drive while I'm deciding.

Oh yeah, go as dark as legal (or darker) on the tint. Would look really nice on your MINI.

 

Hey all you multiple-MINI owners - Now that I've had my first MINI for almost 2 weeks, I have a question: How much older will I be before I quit whacking the door panel reaching for the window switch?

Depends. Do you own any other cars ? If so, and you go back and forth between the MINI and other car or cars... you will be doing that for a long time. LOL If the MINI is your only car, then you'll get used to it pretty soon.

 

Hillarious! Yes I'm wondering that same question. I hope that most of my drive time is spent in my MINI so it becomes second habit. Definitely makes more sense to reach for the center console in my opinion!

Ok, here is the Tiger (orange and white ship) after it passed under the Centennial Bridge in the Panama Canal today. The camera is pretty far away and I didn't bother cropping all of the images.



And here is the Tiger going through the 2nd of 3 Miraflores locks. The first is upstream quite a bit.



She seems to get a bit wide as she comes into the lock. She wasn't really going that fast though.

I got a few shots of it in the Gatun locks, but not enough to make a video out of.

Man, I have serious problems...

 

Man I love this car !!! Picked it up on saturday and yes there was literally a petting zoo at the dealer. Goats ducks and bunnies. Here are a few pics I got of the car as well. I didnt get it washed and its been raining everyday so far, so she's not at her pristine shiny state yet. I definitely cant wait to go for a drive over the long weekend though.

Since I've had my mini (about a week) I've whiffed it while reaching for the non-present keys (comfort access) twice, and gone to use the window on the door once.

After a LLOOOOONNNNNGGGGG day of waiting, I finally got to pickup my Clubman this evening. It's good to have a MINI back in the garage...I was starting to get the shakes.

Took delivery with 7 miles on the odometer, and was in and out in under 30-minutes. Got a pair of blacked out license plate frames, and my son got a MINI toy car, from my Motoring Advisor...so that was nice. The frames will go well with the blackout theme I intent to undertake over the coming months. It's a bit weird getting used to some of the controls after driving my R53 for 10-years, but I am liking her so far.

So just a few quick iPhone photos this evening...hoping I can get better quality photos in the coming days once I get some mud flaps installed, and add a few of my touches to her.
