"that guy" is a smart, money savvy guy. Be him.

You'll have a CM that is a year older than the one you ordered even though it's only going to be a couple months older. If that doesn't matter to you, get the 2013 if the dealer won't come down on the price on the one you have on order (which is a very real possibility).

Even losing the deposit would still save me about $3000 after taxes.

Anyone see anything wrong with me using this new found (and short term) bargaining power to save at least some on my '14? Don't really want to be "that" guy, but $3k is $3k.
$3K is $3K. Don't use it to bargin. Use it as an ultimatum. They should either split the diff, or you get the 13. That is what I'd do.

But even during the break in period, I'm sure your JCW is loads of fun. You hearing any exhaust pop and burble yet ?

Is it only the JCW that does that?

So guys... my son is going to be heading out on his own next year. We're thinking about moving and having a home built. We've been studying floor plans and have one picked out. Take a look at these numbers and tell me if you can figure our what our priority is:

Total Living Area: 1,840 sq. ft.
Attached Garage: 3 Car, 946 sq. ft.

Garage space is more than half the space of the square footage of the house.

No... the N18 engine does that. I had an "S" loaner car a few months ago and it popped and burbled like crazy. Told my MA that if my JCW doesn't do that, I'm bringing it back for a full refund.

Definitely don't care whether it's a '13 or '14, at least not $3k worth. That $3k could become more mods!

The only "problem" is the other MINI dealer's sale ends Monday at 8pm, which will make things tight to figure it out. And of course, the dealer is about 2 hours away, but that's less of a hassle.

There's no problem with purchasing at one dealer and then having is serviced at another right? I mean, when it comes to the "included" maintenance?

No... we did that with two of our MINIs. The dealerships make more money from service than they do new car sales. They'll be glad to service your MINI at the closer dealership.

Every MINI likes to spread out in its own space!

Yep... one of the poor MINIs will have to rough it and live outside under a car cover.

Just wait until you can rip it up to 6,500 rpm. It feels amazing! It will literally spin the tires in second.

I don't get it. 4 cars. 3 car garage. The math doesn't work.

Wait... this says it does.

And this says the CM JCW doesn't but the S does.

Makes no sense. And still confused. I'd like a little pop on the S.

The Tiger is back on the radar for now. It will be heading southwest between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico as we sleep tonight.

I emailed our MA, to ask when the new one would be ready. He thinks Sunday (sooner than I was expecting), so we're going to pick him up at 2pm. That'll be on the way back from the autocross.

I'm pretty far behind on this thread, but I have an excuse. I think you know what it is. Let's just say that I didn't get too much sleep on Tuesday night.

It's been fun waiting in such good company. Best of luck to all of you who are still hanging in there!

The Michigan Highway has already shoved off. Only about 15 hours to load up and leave Southampton. Now... 8 days of boring tracking.
