I picked up my convertible today. Of course a small monsoon opened up and I was unable to put the top down. Hopefully the weather will cooperate tomorrow so I can take some photos. I'm a first time MINI owner so I will have to get used to the car and feature. So far I love it.

Congrats, you wait is over. Now all you need is some sunshine to full enjoy the top down experience. Happy motoring.
Hummm its sounding like the build time for the MINI isn't the long part.. It sounds like travel time is the killer...lol... Is this true? cheers!!
Yeah it is. Ordered 4/28. Completed build 5/8. All the time from then till at least 6/21 is shipping. Mine was about 4 days to the port almost three weeks at the port an now 28 days to California.
First Post. Been lurking for years, finally ordered my first MINI on May 21st. In Production now, scheduled for completion on June 1st. Thanks to all on this site for helping me to configure my "perfect" MINI.
And yes, travel time from Oxford to the boat was excruciatingly slow: 27 days, including getting bumped off the first boat last Friday.
Man, what a drag. I don't understand what would have been the hold-up with yours. Mine was built a couple weeks after yours, and yet somehow managed to get onto an earlier boat. Different destinations, but still. Glad the end (or rather, the beginning) is finally in sight!
That's it - they dragged the car to the port instead of shipping it.
My dealer says this kind of stuff happens all the time, and that MiniUSA has never given him a good explanation as to why. Fortunately, we're still within the 6-8 week timeframe originally quoted to me - but I want the car NOW!!!
ASK-MINI finally changed from "in production" which seems to mean they're thinking about it to "in the body shop", which is the first stage of actual production. The estimated completion is still tomorrow, which would be a very fast build.
First MINI & second post - waiting at port of exit in Southampton for a ship. Based on WW & KLine websites I have six boats to Brunswick, GA by June 9th (Michigan Hwy, Asian King, Independence II, Chesapeake Hwy, Honor, Mignon). I'm rooting for the Asian King!

WOW... I see there is no quick delivery then...I fig. as much.. this is going to be a painful process ha ha .. Ive only checked my status a billion times already..YIKES!!!
My MA told me it takes about 8 days for the production period.
Yah that's what my MA said also...it really doesn't take long to build.. Its after the build that the fun begins ha ha... If im right we might be done at the same time as well..give or take a few days maybe.. Its still very cool to track this whole process..lol

Yeah. I wish there were a good way to visualize what my car is having done to it in the factory... Some sort of animation or something vs "Scheduled For Production" since last week Friday...
June 4th is when it's done. I figure with luck, 3.5 weeks from then it'll be stateside. I'm hoping to be driving it for the 4th of July weekend.
I am on the East Coast so hopefully it wont take as long. I found that your MA has more accurate info. The MINI site is very slow and for days I thought my car was still on order.

I know..Mine has been in that status as well.. "scheduled for production"..But im thinking our luck should change soon!! ha ha.. My MA said I should have mine by the 4th as well..but im getting a weird feeling that is not going to happen
My car (details in sig) should arrive in port today. MA says about five days until it's at the dealership.
Great news St_G, looks like things are heading in the right direction! Our MA is thinking we will have ours by this weekend. Hope he is correct about that
