"Those waiting for a 2013" Support Group
Thanks for the info... that's good to know.. I was wondering which ones were made where..lol...
A new way to waste time!
Once you know your MINI is assigned to a ship, you can track the vessel at http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/ for part of the journey. On the home page, click on the Vessel tab at the top and enter the name and type (Cargo) of the ship, and you'll get a map showing your ship's location and past course. You can push the Refresh Now button under the map at any time or let it refresh automatically every 100 seconds; both are much more current than the other ship tracking methods previously discussed in this thread. If you click on the ship's icon, you'll get more details on the ship and the voyage. However, the downside is that the system's coverage seems to end once the vessel gets a certain distance from land. So, now it's not showing the Carmen, but I'm going to see if I can pick up the ship again as it approaches the U.S.
The mobile App costs $3.99, but there's no charge to use the website. I know it works for WW (in my case, the Carmen), but I'd be interested in knowing if it works for the other shipping lines too.

No. It appears to be specifically for the Indian market, just a couple of diesels, and not cheap either. About $45K for the basic model with 122hp.
Maybe the Austria plant switches up between All4 and FWD and you are just waiting on the next All4 cycle. Dunno really, just speculating, but you've waited a awful long time IMHO to not be in production. Have you called your dealer? Maybe they forgot to submit it.

My R56s is headed to Brunswick, GA via one of the following boats (I hope) (& pray its one of the firsts) - Michigan Hwy, Asian King, Independence II, Chesapeake Hwy, Honor or Mignon. The first boats will have it on shore by the 17th. Glad my MINI doesn't have the pleasure of the Panama Canal voyage.

Do you have a direct link for the video? I've never been able to get the one in the OL to work.
There is, and Spa's right that it's broken. I watched it on YouTube, at excruciatingly low resolution.
Spa, just search for "MINI factory production" or something similar and you'll find it.

yep, the OL link is below the "scheduled for production" popup. it worked a few weeks back. there are also pretty cool youtube videos on the robotic prodution lines.

Placed my order last Thursday, May 23rd...just got an email from my MA that my Clubman has been assigned a VIN & production number, and that she is scheduled for production. She's almost official...
Of course, this means I have a new VIN Number to memorize...

For some reason I can't copy the YouTube link on my iPad, but here's the link for the other thread with the entire 15 minute video:

I took the tour earlier this spring and it was awesome!

Just another step in the process. Congrats.
Well, it looks like I take delivery tomorrow morning on my Roadster. Can't wait. It looks like we'll have fantastic weather here in the Chicago area, severe thunderstorms. What better way to celebrate owning a convertible?
Sometimes you just have to laugh a little.
The OL still shows my car at the port awaiting transport, even though it's been on the ship Carmen for almost 2 days.
The Sailwx.info system has been fun to watch since the Carmen left Southampton, following the boat through the English Channel and southwest of Ireland - but now it says the Carmen is just east of Prague, in the Czech Republic, running at an average speed of 151 knots!
So, I thought it wouldn't hurt to dig out my iPad and ask Siri to "Show me the position of the ship Carmen in the North Atlantic." Siri's response: "Which league does it play for - NBA or NHL?"
