I know, I know, some of you are probably saying "Its About Time." Here are some pic of my roadster. I took delivery last Friday and I just love it. Everyone who has taken delivery of a new MINI knows exactly what this feels like. Is there anything more to say?
We ALL know what you mean... So there isn't more to say!
Incredible interior! But I have to ask... What's up with the leather that appears to be loose on the seating surface of the driver's seat? I've noticed that in other new MINIs as well. Is it just how they are made?

Leather does stretch, so it is not uncommon to see this on the Lounge interiors. Believe me, I'm pretty picky but this I can live with it. I'm sure if the center section was channeled like the front edge is, this would be less obvious. I noticed that in photos of the Lounge leather in European cars from 2012 model year have the channeling in the center section. I'm curious to when and why it was changed.

I see. But I've also noticed this on punched leather seats in brand new MINIs. I'll be getting the punched leather seats in my Bayswater. And I'm pretty picky too... I could understand if the leather loosened up over time, but brand new...?!
haha... yep, FINALLY. My sales rep (pardon me, Motoring Advisor) told me they had no more JCW slots for 2013s and only three "S" slots still open but he could get one of those "S" slots converted to a JCW slot before they are all gone.
I found that when you get up to the 5th or 6th MINI, the MA becomes very accommodating. When we got our JCW last year they'd run out of JCW slots, but borrowed one from another dealer.
Ours actually got onto the boat today. I've heard of several people who'd had their MINI booked on a boat only to not make it. So I'm pleased. Still on course for 1st July.
Got news yesterday that my clubman is on the Georgia Highway and is due in Brunswick GA tomorrow!
I had been worried since the WWL website couldn't find my VIN - but that's because it ended up on a KLine boat instead. Check with your MA for boat info if WWL does not give you results.
Hopefully it will clear the VDC quickly and it will get to me here in Texas in a couple weeks (or less).

I've have seen the wrinkles on the Punch leather as well. I must admit, the day I took delivery the seat looked fairly smooth. It doesn't take much for the wrinkles to show up.

Very nice ride Mr T love the color and the interior...very well done..
Thanks. I struggled with the interior color. I usually go for black but felt I needed a change, the change was a welcomed one.
Your welcome... I can understand what you mean.. But really you made an awesome choice.. The colors all came together.. Its a very classy looking interior.. To be honest the whole car came together very nicely..Enjoy

On the 15th, I'm going to the dealership to price out my dealer-installed options. I'm guessing $3k. We'll see then just how much they appreciate me.

Well, it's good to know that this issue seems very common. Let's hope knowing this will help temper my usual expectations...

An interesting comment was made to me by a fellow coworker after pulling into the parking lot, top down of course. She came up to me and said, "I generally don't like the look of the MINI product, but this I love."
Yeah, leather stretches. I've heard it said that cheaper leather stretches more, but as I've never had particularly nice leather anything, I don't know how true that is.

In the upholstery business, the industry term for this condition is call "comfort wrinkles." The appearance of these wrinkles is directly caused by applied pressure to the seat or back of fabric or leather, and the subsequent compression of the foam understructure, which causes minor stretching. It is considered normal and usually gives the upholstery character, as well as the “I have been there and back” look. This seems to fit the character of the MINI's lets motor philosophy.
Stunning Mr. T. I've never been a fan of that interior color, but I now see I was wrong. It looks perfect with that model and body color!
Thanks, EHans. My MA was so excited about this interior color choice. She has worked at MINI or over ten years and said she has only seen the toffee three times. Two were customer orders and the other was stock. None were combined with a black exterior. I don't think the toffee is anywhere near as popular as the neutral or black choices.
