Just waiting for the Miata to die

Hello to the forum from Pennsylvania. I've been driving a 1994 Miata since I bought it new. It's closing in on 207,000 miles now with no mechanical problems. If and when it dies, I will become a Clubman owner. Until then I just visit the MiniUSA site, constantly changing what my Mini will ultimately have in it.

Perish the thought TwoYutes! I am also an owner of a Miata (mine's a '97, bought as a demo). I'm ceasing use of it due to the fact that it's starting to gradually decline, plus the safety factors have improved vastly in these cars since my purchase. I'll keep wishing that there will be a way you can have both. I don't know how many MINIs I fabricated in the configurator! I realize it must've been over 300! Until then, enjoy the twisties in your fantastic roadster, and I know you're just gonna love your Clubman when that blessed day arrives!

I wonder how the Miata feels about that? lol Wouldn't it be easier to sell it while it's still working, instead of waiting for it to die?

I haven't even told mine yet about it's little brother on the way. I just haven't the heart, I may just tell him that it's a visitor 'staying for awhile'. After a few months the suspicion will settle then, and maybe they'll be friends? Oh wait, they're cars...I keep forgetting! The funny thing is, I truly thought the same exact thing zoedragon!!

A bit of body rust just in front of the rear tires in combination with the age and mileage makes it not really worth selling. It's my daily commuter (80 miles RT) so I figure I get as many miles out of it as I can and then it will be time for the Mini. Or I could give the Miata to my college age son and just get the Mini sooner. Hmmm.

Cool glad you want a MINI, but honestly I've worked on alot of Miatas and those are good cars, they just don't die and are super cheap, you better just plan on selling it or giving it away to get the MINI.

Welcome to the forum, I would give the Miata to your son, if it still running some ought to get some use out of it.

Turn the Miata into a dedicated track car.
