Having observed the value and therapy of the Week 10-14 (Mar1-31, 2010) Support Group, I thought I would get a new “Support Group" going for those of us getting their new MINI in the upcoming weeks.

I ordered mine on April 2nd, got the Production number on April 5th and the VIN on April 7th. I just learned yesterday that the Production and QA checks were finished yesterday (original target date provided was Apr-15) and am at Produced/Not Shipped. I can’t wait to figure out &/or learn when my car arrives in Southampton and secures a ride across the pond. I’m hoping to find the VIN on the WW tracking pages here this week.

I learned a lot from How to Track your MINI: Revised, Expanded and Updated' and I have really enjoyed reading the Week 10-14 Group’s progress - tojofi, anuppercasej, minimini482, gojogo, mattdaemon, etc. They have either received or are in the home stretch of getting their MINIs. Congratulations to you all! I can’t wait to get where you all are currently.

In the interim, I’m passing the time by cleaning out the garage and selling the old ride (a ’99 Ford Explorer).

Oh yes, it is certainly a whole lotta fun! This is my first MINI experience and I'm enjoying every minute of it. These support groups are great, you get to meet some nice folks and see if your MINI shares a birthday.

I ordered back in March and will probably be picking mine up at the end of May. Hope you don't mind if I hang out in this thread as well.

Congratulations to everyone in Weeks 15-20! It's a long wait but it's quite fun!

 

That's a whole lot more info than I received from MY MA, he hasn't emailed me since sending me the production number. FAIL!

I ordered mine just a couple days before you, but I think I lucked out because they used an order slot previously designated for another car, and I went right from 'scheduled' to 'production' in just over a week (3/30 - 4/8).

Don't mind you hanging out at all. This is my first MINI also. I have wanted one for some time now and figured I would just choose exactly what I did and/or did not want on it. I agree that this should be fun.

 

Yes, my advisor is good. She made me aware of the Owners Lounge and these forums when I ordered. I just made sure she knew I was reading them and was looking forward to tracking the process from end-to-end. So she shoots me screen shots from her system periodically when things change.

You did get to production very fast.

I ended up going with JCW convertible. How about you?

While the wait does suck, its great to have others to chat with about and who are (in some cases literally) in the same boat

This is my first Mini as well and I can't wait to take delivery and go motoring!!

 

I am also waiting for my first MINI. My MCS was built in Wk 15 and it is currently on TAPIOLA. The ship left Southhampton 19th April and will arrive in Australia late May. The wait is killing me.....

 

MCS convertible for me, details in my signature, below. Fortunately, for me, the wait is made somewhat easier because I already drive a Mini... I just want one that I can take the top off

 

Thought I would pop in for a minute just to say hi. It really makes a huge difference to have a support group of people going through the same thing at similar times. The wait was making me crazy (ask my poor husband!). So hang in there everyone and you'll be motoring soon!

Awesome thanks. Miniusa says its on order but the vehicle inquiry report has code 112- scheduled for daily production pack. Could it actually be going into production the day after I ordered? I don't want to get my hopes up.

 

My fault. I reckon I had the option switch off for signatures. Now I see your details. I think I will try and add the same for my order.

You are fortunate to be able to enjoy both models. I went back and forth for a bit because I do like what you can do with the hood schemes. I'm hopeful that my wife may get bit and want one or maybe the Countryman.

 

Not your fault; I had no idea you could suppress other folk's signatures!

sekhmet101, have you tried calling 1-866-ASK-MINI to see what they are saying the status reflects today? Just hit zero when the recording starts and pop out to one of the call center folks to get you an update.

I actually didn't call yet. I'm pretending I don't know that I have the production number. My salesperson said he would call me by tomorrow to let me know the number. I figured I'd give him the chance to do that. Of course, he's off tomorrow so I may not get it from him.

 

I've been badgering mine by phone and e-mail for almost two weeks now since I got my VIN to get my credit paperwork processed and he doesn't seem to have done it yet. I'm giving him until tomorrow and if he hasn't called or e-mailed me saying it's done I'm calling the manager. Aren't they supposed to WANT to take your money? I want to be sure everything gets put through before the deals change on May 1 in case the $1750 option credit goes away.

I ordered on March 16, didn't get finished with production until April 16 and am currently awaiting transport. Those of you who got through production so fast, be thankful!

So far this whole ordering experience is shaping up to be pretty miserable. I just have to keep looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. Once I've got my new MINI I'll be able to look back on this and... Well... Maybe not grind my teeth and snarl.

My experience has been similar. After I ordered my MINI I had to e-mail the MA several times to get any kind of answer about anything. I filled out the financing paperwork several weeks ago and asked him about it and he hasn't responded. He told me, though, as far as financing, they would honor whichever promo had the best rate either March/April or May since I ordered in March and will take delivery in May.

I ordered March 14 and finished production April 10. Mine even got backed up a couple of days because of a door shortage. It made it on a boat April 19. I'm sure you're not too far behind! Have you checked to see what the next boat to your port is?

 

My new MINI is on the Dorado Leader. Anyone else on the same boat?

 

OK I caved in and called. My car started production today!!! Can you believe it? I just ordered it Monday! Holy Moly!!!!!! *jumps around like a 5 year old*
