On a personal note, went up to the dealership after work today and talked to the manager - am all set for the 3.9% and $1750 option credit, no more worries about getting things taken care of before the 30th. With that stress out of the way I can get back to the business of eagerly awaiting delivery day (or eagerly awaiting the car to make it on a boat, if we're taking things one step at a time...)

 

Congrats. It would take the fun out of things if you were having to worry about your interest rate/deal. Good to have that off your mind. Enjoy!

 

So - something interesting...

I got on to MINIUSA last night, and it had updated from the dealer slot of Pepper White to my spec of Chili Red. So of course, I got excited!

But then I checked again this morning, and it's back to Pepper White. ??? I have an email into my MA to see why that is!

 

I don't know how accurate that system is. I had my custom order replace an existing stock order, too, and it updated from BRG to HzB with my options and then, the next day, it showed HzB with NO OPTIONS. I became alarmed, and then thought I'd let it go a day and check again... sure enough, all my options were there the next day and everything seems to have proceeded normally (I take delivery later this week, so of course, until then, who knows!).

Give it a day and check again.

Don't sweat what is says on the OL on MINIUSA. It is behind in information and often incorrect. If you want answers, call your MA or call ASK MINI.

Just so you know, the OL still tells me my car is on order but when I call ASK MINI, it tells me my MINI is in production. I hope that makes you feel a little better.

 

Well, now it's back to Chili Red again. haha

 

And back to Pepper White now. WTF is going on?!?! haha This is killing me! I guess I just have to call ASK-MINI. I hate to be a pain in calling them though? Anyone else call like every day?

 

LOL! Yeah, for the first 3-4 days... they don't mind. They are actually very understanding and (in my experience) quite helpful. They have probably heard it all at this stage. The OL is pretty lame, and you wonder why they can't provide the same detail/information that the MAs have access to.

 

I called Friday and spoke to a person. I called yesterday and today just looking to get info from the automated system. I feel kinda stupid calling back and asking for a person when I already know the car is being built. I'll probably ask for a person Monday or Tuesday to make sure it's on its way to Southampton.

 

Called ASK-MINI, and even they still have the order listed as Pepper White - the old dealer order. So I sent another email to my MA. He is going to be soooo sick of me.

But why then would it show a couple of times as Chili Red?? But yeah - it just shows that the production pack (???) was created on 4/19. So nothing else has moved. hmmmm......

 

Not sure that I called everyday but I did call frequently. And if I did call, I also hit '0' and spoke to a human to get the most current update.

And I did not feel bad about it because I figured it was included in the price of the mini and part of the experience.

 

MA said sometimes it can take a little while to override in their system. Soooo....he said by this weekend, it should be updated and a production week assigned. Fingers crossed. You all are moving through production so very fast! I'm jealous!

Still says Pepper White. I would be fine with all that if it weren't for the fact that a couple of times, it actually said Chili Red (my color). But I am going with what MA told me yesterday that not to worry. My biggest worry is that the car has to be delivered to me by June 30 to get the 1.9%. Otherwise, I would be happy waiting, because that's a few months w/o a car payment! haha

 

June 30th for the 1.9%? I thought that deal was over as of April 30th. Is it being extended?

 

Yeah, I was told order by April 30, take delivery by June 30. Classic MINI has always been a straight shooter, so I don't suspect any monkey business.

 

Same here. I asked my MA about locking down the 1.9% and he said that that was only possible when both the car and the title were at the dealership.

Fortunately (I hope), there's a strong likelihood that I can take delivery Friday
and get the 1.9% financing deal. My MA called the VDC and they said that they would have the car to the dealer before the end of April.

 

hmmmm...yet another reason to be worried! haha

Like I said - Classic has a wonderful reputation, and I asked several times if the 1.9% would still apply. I was assured it was.

 

Well, owners lounge is back to Chili Red again. Oy vey. What a rollercoaster ride!

The status of my baby is still "loaded on vessel"...

 

I was told I could lock the rate with a deposit, but I could not necessarily lock the options deal. I guess I'll see what happens when my baby comes in.

My new baby will be CR/B - doing sport stripes - up the center in black, across the roof in red, and back down the back in black. Gonna look MEAN! haha

And here's something very, very strange. Six years ago, I ordered my Dobby. He started production on 4/29/04. AND, that was a leap year. So technically, the VERY SAME timeframe. SPOOKY! Dobby caught the ship on 5/16. FREAKY.
