I also have a WC50 coming. I got a status 150 on April 20th. Paintwork was done Monday. It is final assembly today. Should be born on Monday/ Tuesday. Delivery should be no later than first week of June.

I can't wait much longer. I have had my deposit in for over 1 year now. Thirteen months is a long time to wait for a car.

I passed on the S because they dropped the lsd option. I hope the edlc works out for you. I have a D mod Lotus Elan so I just wanted something nice for the street that I could drive to an autocross to drive for fun. I miss my '92 BMW 525i and the cooper is only a tenth slower to 60mph. I almost compromised on a new 2009 S convertible with the right opitions but the dealer wanted as much as a 2010 for it.

 

Today I got the VIN for my WC50. As of April 26 it had completed assembly and entered first quality check. Can anyone give me a ballpark of how long it might take to reach my east coast dealer?

 

If its not already on a ship, it should be on one that leaves Sunday. From there, it could take 10 days or so depending on what East Coast port it goes to.

 

Congratulations on your order. You should probably read through the threads in this Sticky: How to Track your MINI: Revised, Expanded and Updated ( 1 2 3 4 5 ... Last Page) within the 1st Gear section if you haven't already. It has a great deal of information and links to the shipping schedules. I found it very helpful.

 

Looks like yours will be about 1 week ahead of mine.
When did you place your order? I placed mine the day the car was reviled at MINI United 2009.

 

Unfortunately the WC50 do not go though the normal channels. It is like a car destined for the dealer lot not an ordered one. We can not get the web updates like the rest of you.

 

Half of us can't get correct web updates either.

 

I got my VIN also. Mine ends in 7770

The web updates are garbage to be honest. Mine still says "in transit" but today my MA called and told me they received my car today? Oh well they try to keep us updated through the process at least.

 

My build will be completed Saturday. OL still says on order. Go figure.

Yep, I was so disappointed about the drop of the LSD. Sadly, MINI seems to ge certainly marketing the car to Sunday drivers as opposed to us autocrossers. haha But hey, there are so few of us.

Yeah, I hope the EDiff will suit my purposes, too. Hey - it's still better than disengaging my DSC altogether. At least this way, I ca disengage the DSC and DTC and just run with the Ediff.

 

OL SUCKS! Car went into production on the 28th. And OL still says On Order. Why even have it? It sucks so bad!

 

So what is going on with my baby on Day 3 of production typically? Anyone know?

No paperwork other than a receipt for deposit. I've never seen anything like this.

 

My guess is that your dealer didn't have an allocation that was close to production time. My dealership was able to override an exisiting order they already had close to production. It was going to be an order for their stock, but when I placed my order, they simply substituted my options.

So it could be that your dealership's next scheduled build was for week 20 - OR, they could not override an existing car they had scheduled for stock.

 

I waited 4 months for a 98 Neon. That was the absolute worst.

 

WOW. Were Neons that popular then? Oh, WOW! Come to think of it, yeah, they were!

 

Now I remember why this is so GD fun!!! MA told me that "Snape" (trying out a name) should be finished next week and loaded onto a ship. So I looked up BOTH WW ships and K-line ships over the next couple of weeks - ships that would leave Southhampton AND dock in Baltimore (my offload/VDC point).

My MA, the pathological liar, says that after looking at status updates it now appears that my car will arrive in 8-10 weeks from now rather than the promised 7-8 weeks from 4/21. The date of production of 5/20 remains exactly what it was nine days ago when he made the bogus promise.

He says he is more than clear that we have no deal without 1.9% financing. Excellent.
