I thought you would be ok but was scared to answer your question earlier in the week. Your timeline from order to beginning production was much like my experience. The journey now begins to feel a bit more real for you now my friend. Let the frenzy of progress bite ya. Congratulations.

Did your MA use an existing order? Mine did and that's pretty much how fast mine went into production. Just over a week (8 days).

Let the waiting commence!

My wifes new Clubman S is in the pond. K-Line Shanghai Highway is the ship and should be in Brunswick GA on the 27th. To bad it won't get to the dealer in time for the Dragon. This is MINI #2 for us.

No, this is still surreal to me. The last car I ordered was a 1998 Neon. I think it took 3 or 4 months to get. I didn't have access to this kind of info back then. And I'm glad I didn't. Now I'm afraid I will obsess and make way too much of a nuisance of myself to my MA and to ASK-MINI. But I am absolutely thrilled. Thanks so much for the support.

I guess he must have used an existing order. When I first checked it, the car was listed as blue. Then it changed to black which is correct. So you and I are on the fast track!

Sorry to hear you won't have it for the Dragon. But at least you'll have it soon. That's probably not a big consolation though.

From what I can tell, I failed to make it onto the Courage, which left today (yesterday)... Next boat out looks to be the Fedora on 27-Apr, arriving in Brunswick, GA 11-May, Charleston, SC 12-May.

Adding insult to injury, I heard back from my MA today that they won't run my credit paperwork, etc until they're confident the car is less than two weeks from the dealer since the credit approval is only good for two weeks, then would have to be run again. When I ordered, they said they could do the paperwork as soon as there was a VIN to ensure I got the $1750 option credit. Now things aren't looking so good on that.

I don't know what to say about the boat except that I'm sorry your baby missed it.

Did you leave a deposit? A deposit locks the interest rate. It won't necessarily lock the option credit unless that special is still available when you get the car.

Not sure if I belong here or not! Don't have my week number yet. Officially ordered an MCS for the second time - first time was in '04. The dealer used an existing order - was category 3 - stock, changed it to category 1 - customer order. I have a production number already, and I call 866-ask-mini and it says scheduled for production. Geez - I remember back in '04, the status was "on order" FOREVER!!!!!! So hopefully this will be my group!

Mine went into production within 8 days of placing the order, a couple of others recently had similar experiences, so good luck getting in quickly!

I think this is the right place for you. As the previous poster said, some of us are having very quick movement through the process. I ordered Monday and the car went into production yesterday. Talk about fast!

General question - I've been in same status 'awaiting transport' since last Tuesday and have been checking the WW site daily hoping to get a hit on my VIN . . . I see that the WW schedule has a couple of ships scheduled for departure tomorrow (Fedora) & Wednesday (Elektra) to the port loc specified on my Vehicle Inquiry Rpt.

If I am not seeing it on the WW site at this point . . . should I start resetting my expectations for a ships later on now e.g May 2nd? (K-line schedule does not show anything after the 24th until May 7th)

Just curious as to what others have seen.

That's quite a long time. Sometimes the status you see is behind what's actually going on. Your mini may have made a ship but it's just not listed there yet. If not, maybe you will be on the ship scheduled to depart tomorrow. I think my car will be waiting at least 4 or 5 days before it gets a chance to get on a ship. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Uuugh - Owner's Lounge and ASK-MINI still have the old specs on the order before my specs were written over. So nothing's been updated yet.

This is killing me already.

I hit the panic button too quick and I reckon I now know why I was unable to find my VIN on the WW site . . . . because my MINI made the K-Line ship on Apr-24th. and is scheduled to arrive at port in Brunswick on May 3rd. So now the watch is on as it crosses the pond It's on the CURITIBA.

So you were right.

Anyone else on the K-Line CURITIBA?

When you call ASK MINI, are you going through the automated system or talking to a person? I wonder if a person would have better info.

A person at ASK MINI always has more up to date information! I hated the waiting but hang in there!

How did you find out you made it onto a K-Line ship? I'm guessing you have a good MA?

Yes. I got an e-mail this morning from her after I had posted the entry here this morning. She is staying on top of it for me.

Just to add to this for future readers - she has been sending me screen shots from her terminal and it has a number of details on the status of each major step: shipping line, vessel, voyage no., bill of lading no., est. departure, est. duration, actual departure, etc. I can also see that Port of Arrival is next and then VPC Warehouse Arrival estimates. So if you can get your MAs to share this level of information it is a bit more reassuring.
