Good deal! What date did it start production?

The bad news is I don't think it's going to get on a ship for a week or so. There are ships leaving today but I don't see how it would have gotten on one so quickly. I don't see any listings from the shipping companies showing a boat leaving Southampton and going to Newark/NYC/Bayonne until the 9th or 10th. If anyone can show me information other then that, please point the way.
I'm curious to see what you find out!

Unless there's a ship that I can't see in the schedule online, she's gonna have to wait in Southampton until the 10th. But I will post any more info I find out.

Cool!

So then your build was 4/23 start to 4/30 finish? Sweet! If mine moves through the canal the same way, then mine will be done Wednesday!

I guess the actual build was finished 4/30 and then Q & A was finished 5/1. I'm saying she was born 5/1 because I just think its really cool to be born on Beltane (May Day- May 1st). And also because that was the date given to me as the date production would be finished.

Oh I hope yours is moving just as quickly.

Ok - so hopefully then build will be complete for me 5/5, and QA on 5/6.

My experience with this the last time around is unless there's a problem, the factory is VERY consistent. For example, when others and I went through, there was a bottleneck at some point. And we all got held up I think an additional day or 2 in the factory.

And like you, my worthless OL status still says I have a Pepper White S on order. Why even have it?

Yeah, I need my fix - I think I will call ask-mini today...

Well the K-Line Curitiba finally reappeared on marinetraffic.com showing it is just a bit north of Bermuda heading onto Brunswick, GA.

Position Recorded on: 5/3/2010 4:23:45 PM (UTC)
Lon/Lat: -65.678001 / 34.574501
Speed/Course: 14.8 kn / 258°

This is the first status update since 4/24. I lost out on the enjoyment of tracking it's course. But did find some guy on the BMW forum that says he called up the customer service line @ K-Line a couple of times to get updates . . . I can't really tell if they told him anything new or if they simply stuck to the schedule they post/update on their site - - his post stated K-Line told him that the Curitiba was on schedule.

I'm happy though. It is making progress. I still have work to complete cleaning out the garage.

I was able to talk to someone at MINI Finance. If you don't have an account number there are no options to do that on the automated answering system but I refused to hangup when so instructed.

I was told that MINI Finance allows the dealers to define the terms of the contract, so whatever I was told they will support. I was told this in relation to both how long the rate is good for and whether tax/title/fees are included even though the MINIUSA site says they are excluded.

I find that amazing, but there you are.

If that's the case then you have to decide how much bs you're gonna put up with from that dealership.

By July 20th I'll have my car with price and loan as documented or my deposit back. Until then I'll honor my side of the agreement and ask nothing more of them.

July 20th? Why so long from the production date? It should be roughly a month, not 2. I hope you get it sooner, with no bs.

This wait is agonizing. Snape still hasn't reached body shop. But he's in production regardless!

My guess is that he will make the WW ship Patriot on the 15th and will arrive in Bal'more on 5/25.

Hey - Sek! You know what ship you're on yet? You been trying to put the VIN in the WW site, yeah?

Are you going to autocross your baby? We need more female autocrossers out there!

Heya!
No I just found out my car has just gotten on a cargo train. I thought it was already in transit but apprently not. It's on its way to Southampton. It was completed May 1st but took until May 5th to get on the train. (I'm sure I'm not lucky enough to have them throw in some extras for the long wait. )So now I have no chance of getting on a ship until next week. But I guess I already knew that.
I don't think I'm going to autocross. I used to love to drive fast but the 6 point speeding ticket forced me to chill out.

In an autocross, you typically don't even get out of second gear. It's all about agility and driving technique. It's a rush! I love it...and it's legal! No speeding tickets! There's always a cop that comes to our events, and he just sits in his cruiser the whole time. It's fun to be able to drive like a maniac in front of a cop! haha

Well that stinks that it took so long to catch the train! I wonder why?

My car has finally updated to 155 Finish/ quality check. Expected production date is 5/14. Then shipping, port install, and final delivery. Still expecting first week of June for its first drive.

I'm confused! It's done, but the production date is 5/14? Sounds to me like you're ahead of schedule?

"Snape" has finished the body shop and is on his way to paint! Hopefully he won't "expelliarmus" the paint guns on his way through!

Wanna are you in the North East? If so, our cars could end up on the same boat.

Sek - midwest actually! Ohio. My order sheet says point of entry is Baltimore. I think you are New York? And the weird thing with the WW line - it seems like ships go to either or. My best chances are the Tijuca (Sunday - but not likely) and the Patriot (5/15 - most likely).

grh, congratulations! Where is your point of entry in the US?

Well autocross is something to think about then. Unfortunately I crossed over to the dark side and bought an automatic. I don't know what fun any kind of racing will be with that.
