Well I spent the entire day Saturday over at the dealer. Got my car! Let the Grinns begin! 
No stripes and no JCW Black-Out Grill but that can wait. Gimmie, Gimmie, Gimmie, Gotta Go, Gotta Go!

Hi all!
Your MINIs look totally sweet! I have wanted one for about 15 years and on May 1, 2010 I finally ordered one. I am super duper ultra excited about it! Even though I looked at the official website just about every single day, there was no useful information about the whereabouts of my MINI until last Friday when it went from being listed as "on order" to "at distribution center." The port location listed was BALPOA (Baltimore?). That is one heck of a one day production/transportation turnaround!
Today it was listed as "at your mini dealer." SWEET! What is it, like only a week or so before I get it?!
This is going to be great!

I've just now found this forum, but I ordered my MCS way back on April 20. It's currently on the Maersk Wind, due in PORT HUENEME on the 4th or 5th. Anyone else on that boat?

Congrats! I normally lean more towards black bonnet stripes on CR vs sport stripes, but with the red on the roof and the black wheels you pulled it off well... Lookin' good!

I also told them how to setup my keys, DRL, etc. as we have a MINI already. I could have been there less than 15 minutes total if I had wanted to.

I set mine this way. (other options)
turn signal on 3 clicks for a gentle nudge (1 click)
unlock all doors first push (1 push driver door, 2nd push rest of doors)
DRL= Daytime Running Lights I have mine turned on (off)
We also paired the Bluetooth phone, setup the Sirius satellite radio, transferred license plate, etc. Moved junk from my old car to the new one, took about 100 picture, etc.
I was in the business office about 5 minutes to sign paperwork and a write a check.

It is iridescent, like a scarab. I just came across Striped Toad's. His appear to be green/magenta.

The dealer is estimating the 14th or 15th, but we could get lucky! Is there something going on that weekend, or are you just hoping to get it asap?

For those of you getting stripes and other stuff at the dealer, is there any difference between that and the factory? For instance, don't they bake the stripes on at the factory? Will the look "as good" if the dealer puts them on?
Same question for the accessories. Will the rally lights work "as well" as they would if you got them factory ordered? Maybe this is more of a modding question, but I was just wondering since there are a few accessories I would like to get, but am uncertain as to how well they will "fit in" with my soon to be picked up and totally awesome mini post production.

Have you asked your dealership if you can have some accessories installed at the VDC before delivery? I'm adding some accessories at the VCD thus saving some costs. Also, from reading threads on NAM, I hear that the work is somewhat better at the VDC than that at the dealership.
