My MA is the manager.

You know what's crazy? I decided to call ASK-MINI and email MINIUSA to see if I can get answers there. Apparently they only track until it gets to the port in England, after which they have nothing to do with it. So, MINIUSA have nothing to do with the MINIS once the get to the USA. Crazy.

Yes, the Mini USA people told me the dealer owns the car once it is in transit.

Maybe those dingbats at ASK-MINI can't give you anymore info but there has to be someone at MINI USA to yell at, I mean speak to. I'd try calling BMW of North America Customer Relations 1-800-831-1117.

Want me to come down there and yell at your MA? It'll get me out of the break-in period at least.

I'm waiting for my MA to return my call. I feel bad getting mad at him, since he isn't causing the delay, but I also think he could at least find out WHY it is delayed.

My current delivery date is 6/30, however this is the 4th delivery date I've had (6/3, 6/15, 6/20) so I have no guarantee that this one will actually be true. It was 40 days from the day I ordered it to the day it arrived at the VDC. In 5 days it'll have been at the VDC 40 days.

The only think keeping me (relatively) sane is that my current car is a 2006 MCS.

He may not be causing the delay but he's not doing his job. The way I see it his job is to keep you happy until you drive off the lot (then you're the service dept's problem.) You aren't asking for anything unreasonable. Really the least he can do is spend some time on the phone with the VDC and give you an explanation. You don't need to be a jerk about it just be firm and don't let him brush you off.

I'm glad your 06 is still keeping you happy.

As for me, this morning I had 1,114 miles on the car. And the only thing I DON'T love about it is that you can't set it to where the Sport button is activated automatically.....

I love EVERYTHING else about the car. :D In fact, I believe I favor the R56 over the R53. My hubby definitely likes the R56 better....
I have 1526 right now. Got to go to airport and back tonight so that will be 100+ more miles. Computer shows 30.7mpg. However I have not figured that high with miles/ gallons purchased. More like 29.x.

Loving the suspension work.

WannaMini, you need this http://new.minimania.com/web/Item/G2.../InvDetail.cfm

I have to order one myself.

I have 720something. I'd like to finish breaking it in this weekend but I don't think it's gonna happen.

Great news. My MA called this afternoon saying the VDC had released my Mini to the carrier. It should be here early next week. My long, long, wait seems to be nearly over.

Ask now for documentation on what the VDC did to the car. Seriously.

I couldn't agree more.

ETA - sorry! I didn't mean to burst your bubble! You're excited, and you should be!

OH! Yeah! That, too! The first time it happened, it actually scared me. Here in OH-IO, we pretty much have speed bumps across the lanes on our highways.

I've already asked.

Edit: My MA just called me (on his day off) saying that he spoke with the VDC and it was a delay in getting the JCW aero kit parts, rather than any transit damage to my MINI. He said he should have it Saturday or Monday and will need a couple of days with it, so I am thinking (hopefully) Wednesday next week.

Just found out that my Clubman S has left the VDC tonight and headed to the dealer tomorrow. Of course today I saw the 2011 MINI refresh pix and started to have second thoughts....really like the new interior modifications! Most likely though I will stick with my original plan and get my 2010 Clubman S, lol.

Fantastic looking car, very sleek in all black. I note you got the JCW mesh side scuttles, which look great! That's an option I've been considering, but had yet to see them in the flesh or photo.

Drive 'er in good health!

Thanks everybody!! Yeah I like the mesh side scuttles. Though I recently saw one of the aftermarket carbon fiber wrapped vinyl ones and they probably would look pretty good too. I'm very happy!!

Today's the day.

After an unusually long and painful wait (ordered April 9, arrived VDC May 19), my Mini is ready at the dealer and I'll be picking it up this afternoon.

Will definitely post pics when I get home.

Thanks for helping me wait

Finally it arrived. I picked up my 2010 JCW on Thursday. It needs to go back next week to have them swap out the front grill surrounds for the aero-kit black ones that they forgot at the VDC.

Certainly looks like it's well worth the wait... though I think I'm glad that I don't have to deal with the VDC you did in case I order another one.

So I was cleaning my car today and noticed my driver side door jamb was covered in overspray. That seemed weird. I just the front side of the jamb and that too had overspray. So I clayed it to fix that...but as I looked closer at the jamb, I could see the tell tale signs of a repaint. So seems like the VDC repainted the drivers side quarter panel. Not a huge deal, they did a decent job, but I'm going to bring it up at the dealers MTTS party tomorrow.
