Order Confusion

Greetings all Week 37'ers,

My MA says we are scheduled for week 37. Here is the confusing part: OL still says the status is "On Order" and 866-ASK-MINI says "On Order" with no confirmed production date.

It has only been two weeks since the order was placed. So may be I am a little over excited about it.

Any thoughts or insight?

Happy Motoring,

Woo Hoo!! I ordered mt CR/B just-a-cooper on 08/02 and was given a production number that day. So, sounds like all I need to do is sit back and wait Thanks for the info, Mike and Kewlby.

n3mpr,

Does ASK MINI tell you a production week? I don't know my production date yet but it should be done sometime during week 37. When you call again maybe ask specifically for a production week. Aside from that the OL shouldn't change once your week is assigned. Mine just shows "On Order" also but I know I'm week 37 according to ASK MINI.

Mike,

No, ASK MINI continues to say it is on order with no specific production date.

So I will call in a day or two to see if it gets updated.

Thanks for the reply.

I am finding out the hard way that despite what the "Track you MINI" thread says, 1-866-ASK-MINI knows less than your dealer. So if you really want to know what your status is, call your MA and ask him/her what your status code is. Here's the rundown:

037 - Order is at BMW NA
087 - Production Week Assigned
097 - Order sent to factor
111 - Order Accepted at factory
112 - Order scheduled for Production
150 - Production Started
151 - Body Shop Started
152 - Paint Shop Started
153 - Assembly Started
155 - Production Completed
160 - Released to Distribution
182 - Released to Carrier
193 - Arrived at Port of Exit
194 - Selected for Shipment
195 - Shipped from Port of Exit
196 - Shipment Arrival

According to my MA I'm still at status 112, but that's expected to change to 150 any day now

Napria,

Thanks for the list of codes. My MA says production is scheduled 8-13 Sept, so that is what I am hoping for. The OL tracker does have a disclaimer that the dealer probably knows more about the status.

Thanks again,

Thanks again,

I have heard from many different threads here that the OL is slow to update status. I've already warned my MA that I'm going to be bugging her frequently, and fortunately she's very sweet about it and told me to call her whenever I want... Except Friday. She's off Fridays.

My MA at Flow Mini in Winston-Salem has been very helpful and I have bugged him a number of times over different things. He is incredibly knowledgeable about the Mini line and he helped me get a wheel/tire combo the the online configuration program would not.

Have Fun,

n3mpr,

Hey if your MA says that production starts the 37th week (8-13) then chances are you are week 38 production. But the odd thing to me is if your MA knows your production week so should ASK MINI. Or, maybe your MA meant it would be complete within those dates and thus equal out to week 37.

Anyways, I suspect everyone here should be receiving their VIN numbers this week through the OL. I understand it as we get them a few days prior to production physically starting. I'll post when I get mine. This week is going to be good....

Mike,

This is what he said " Your MINI has a production week of September
8th-13th, which means it should arrive somewhere within 4-5 weeks of
that time frame."

I guess it really does not matter that much in the whole scheme of things if it is week 37 or 38. It will be a cool car and a blast to drive.

Have fun and thanks for the insight,

Yep I can hardly wait till mine gets here too! Well judging by what he said I'd say if that's your production week it should enter production this week just like everyone else here. I'll be calling ASK MINI everyday this week.

Well, I finally heard back from my MA. All he said was "It's the 2nd build week in September and he will know more in 2 weeks."
Thanks a lot. I knew that already. Is anyone else having trouble getting info from your MA. My husband says "What else do you want from the guy?" I want more precise info. Waiting is hard.

A watched mini never builds?
I'm eager to know what's up, but I think once a week will be enough checking for me. Otherwise I'll get frustrated.

I've emailed my MA a couple time and guess what? No reply :( I don't know what's up at the dealership. I guess they don't check their emails perhaps. I'm just going to have to call if I want anything done.

Attention ladies and gents of week 37........take a look at the recent posts on the week 36 build support group. Several have just moved into scheduled for production in the owner's lounge today. I'm thinking we all should start seeing that happen to us late this week / early next week. THAT MEANS WE'RE GETTING CLOSE!!!!

Just checked in the OL again, no change. But you are probably right and by the end of next week we should see a change. Thanks!

An Old Joke - Mini Style

Hi all,

I think this is Mini's version of a very old joke:

Q: How do you keep "New Mini Owners" occupied?

A: Don't update their order status in the OL so they will checking it.

I feel like a little kid anticipating the arrival of Santa. Only this time the arrival will be much more fun!

Happy Waiting Everyone,

By the end of this week the status should change, I hope anyways.

Some good news, if a bit cynical. Labor day is only a US holiday, so they were probably still working yesterday.

But it's good news for us, right?

I just called Ask Mini and mine is also scheduled for completion on the 8th.

Mini must give the Production Week as the week it will be completed versus the date it begins production.

Anyway looks like progress is being made.

Good Luck everyone,

Yeah, still scheduled for the week of 9/8 here. That's the date it will be completed, so I assume they begin on that Monday and roll them out by the end of the week. If we're lucky we won't have to wait too long for a ship. With the weak dollar we're having trouble keeping up with exports, but there ought to be plenty of ships ready to import to the states.
