Week 36 or 37
I spoke to Ask Mini last night, this morning and just 10 minutes ago. They do not seem to be able to decide if I am week 36 or 37. Each person I spoke to said the same thing "Um, it looks like week 37 or maybe week 36". So, my previous post has me worried on the time schedule info. Anyone else had these issues?
I've called twice and the first time it was a definitive 36, this time it was well it looks like 36, but I don't have a VIN for you and others at 36 have a VIN number so maybe you are 37. I know it doesn't help you answer your question per se, but you are not alone.
I do not know if any of you have asked this before of Ask Mini, but I called them last night and got a walk through on the time tables:
Once in production - 14-16 days
Factory Sign off - 1 day
Shipping Request - 1 day ( transport to the Port for Cargo Vessel)
Travel across the Pond - 10-15 days if on the East Coast and depending on the weather. We are in Hurricane Season right now in South Carolina. IIf I understood correctly the Cargo Vessel stops in more than one port of call - New York, Newport News, Charleston, Miami then around to the Panama Canal. I thinks there were some stops in between, but I cannot recall the names of the ports.
Arrives at Port- 1 days customs
Arrives in Greenville, SC - that is our custom depot - 10 days for installation of special features
Arrives in Charleston - 1 day
Dealer Contact - As soon as they have completed their inspection and post travel clean up - 2 days
Pick Up - write the check - minutes
Drive away - A.S.A.P.

I believe 8/18/2008 would be a week 34 build.
Hello,
I was told a few weeks ago that I was production week #37, but I went to miniusa and found I had an assigned VIN # and my status had moved to "in production" so I called 1866askmini and they said the system still shows a week #37 build and that # is just an estimate, but that my car is being built and is due to be completed 1 Sept. Is it possible I got moved up? Anyone ever heard of this actually happening? What week are we in now? #34?
Thanks,
Dell

Well I"m not an expert in these things but isn't anything prior to week 36 a 08 model? So if it's in production now wouldn't that be an 08?
I could be totally wrong about this, but hey if you are wanting an 08 then you're just gonna get your car faster!

yeah, I am not sure either. Normally I would call my MA, but I havent had much luck in the past with that. I read on here somewhere that week 33 and before are 08's, but I could be wrong as well.

Yeah possibly, perhaps that allows that two week vacation I think they take over at the factory (34 & 35). I would call Ask Mini again just to confirm that it is an 09 model since that is what you ordered (didn't see it on your sig the first time). I would be upset to get an 08 if I wanted an 09 and was willing to wait it out for it.
Based on what I've read, the "production week" is week the vehicle is finished production, not when it's started or when it's being built. So any vehicle that's completed the week of 9/1, is considered production week 36.
OK, so I just called and the very helpful miniusa women told me that my mini is being built now and that mine is actually an 09. so I was happy about that...cuz thats what I ordered. I am also happy I have been moved up. She said I was in that weird week were some 08 and 09 are being built at the same time. The 08 are on different production line then the 09 and some are being built at the same time. Kind of wierd, but thats what she said.

Update on week 37
I just got off the phone with Ask Mini. Today the lady said I am definately in week 37. She said that means sometime during that week my JCW Clubman S will go into production. She said 6-7 days on the line. Then to the port of shipment (week there waiting on a ship) then over to Charleston SC, then to Greenville for the customization, then to the dealer. I should probably see my car sometime in November.
It just gets later and later on the delivery.

Hello.
Just moved from Week 36 to Week 37. Having been on the Week 36 thread for a few weeks, talking to 1-866-ASK-MINI and looking at the "How to Track your MINI" thread, I'm pretty sure that "Production Week" represents the week of the year that production starts on your MINI.
By the way, I highly recommend reading through the thread on how to track your mini: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=144057
I just found out that my status code is 112, which means "Order Scheduled for Production." According to my MA (Motoring Advisor) I should be moving to status 150 soon. However, Week 37 means that production could start any day in the 37th week of the year: September 8th - September 14th.
Hope this clears up some confusion
By the way, for anyone who's interested (and I'm always interested to find this out from others who are waiting) I ordered my MINI on July 26th. It seems like a very long wait for production to start!

I"m guessing your dealership is selling a lot of MINI's and didn't have a slot open till that week. I ordered August 11th and got in week 37. Hopefully the time will go by fast for us both though.
You guys have to consider yourselves lucky. We ordered on May 11th. Talk about a long wait. My husband just came back from Germany and took pictures of Minis for me. They are EVERYWHERE over there.
