Just called Mini again, still no build date. But I did find out that they update their computers at 1:00 eastern time.

 

Does anyone know how long the boat ride takes to the west coast?

 

Week 37, but feeling like a week 36'er. I'm with the group that is scheduled to be built by 09/08/2008. I found out when I was at the dealer today. The owners lounge and the automated Ask Mini still are not updated, but the live customer service rep was able to confirm that my mini went into production today. It does seem a little more real that I have a VIN #, but until I'm driving off the lot, it might as well be a dream.

 

It should take somewhere between 19 to 21 days to CA. Once they are done at the VDC, our Mini's will be trucked. I believe it'll take another 3 days (I am in Washington State) before they arrived at the dealer.

 

My MINI has started production!!!!!

 

I called Mini, they told me I am slated for production on 09/08. The closer it gets, the crazier I get! I am checking the OL about three times a day!

 

I just called them too and they said that I'm starting that week but haven't given me a specific day. I think by next Monday most of us will get your VIN numbers just like week 36 did this past Monday.

 

Yeah for you Napria! Congrats! I can't wait to get the news. Now that us week 37'ers are seeing some action, I broke down and call askmini twice today but I'm still just scheduled for production slated for anytime after this Sunday 7th with no VIN # yet.

Do you remember what day you ordered? I ordered my MINI on Aug 8... it feels like a lifetime ago- ugh

Hopefully I'll hear something soon too.

I ordered mine on 08/02 and was told by ask mini that I would be a week 37'er. I haven't seen any change on the OL yet, but given what others have said, that doesn't surprise me. I know that doesn't help you much, but the wait is killing me and I just had to chime in. I'm trying to not drive my wife crazy with all this

I called ASK MINI this evening and was able to get the VIN. Yeppie!

It will be interesting to see how long it takes the OL to catch up.

 

Aye, let us know if you see it on the OL. I wonder if mine has a vin but just isn't showing it.

 

The OL indicated a VIN # yesterday on "Rupert" and ASK MINI told me today that his estimated completion date will be 9-5. Hopefully, if all goes as planned, I will be driving my 09 Chili Red/JCW by the 2nd week of October When I ordered my 05 Cabrio it took exactly one month from production date to delivery.

That would make you week 36 your car should be in the paint shop now.
Call ask mini and talk to someone live or your MA if you want more detail
Slight possibility of catching the ship on the 8th but your probably looking at the 12th.

When I checked last night the OL had me still listed as On Order. This morning it now shows the vehicle is in production and the VIN is listed. So it appears the OL is updating more often than it may have in the past.

Ask Mini told me a few minutes ago my MINI is in production!!
Got a VIN # but could not wrestle out of them a completion date.
She had 2 pieces of info: 1. in production 2. Start production 9/08/08

I am planning on the 2nd week in Oct for delivery in Memphis, TN.
Maybe I should call the new clubbie "Elvis"?

 

I spoke to Ask Mini today because the website is not showing any progress on my CLUBMAN S with JCW package. And, the local dealer MA is a drip.

She said my start date is this Monday and it should take a week and a half to complete production, then off to Southhampton for a possible 2 week wait for shipping, then approximately a 15 day trip to Charleston, SC, then off to Greenville, SC distribution center for the custom add ons (approximately a week depending on availability and Hurricanes in the Atlantic ((same on shipping on the latter))), then back to Charleston, SC for dealer sign off and then, hopefully they will call me to write the check and drive away.

So, I am thinking Thanksgiving for delivery. The lady at Ask Mini said not to expect it any earlier than late October (last week) or November (first week).

Since we have 3 Tropical Storms (wiht potentials to become Hurricanes) lined up in the Atlantic, and one named Hannah that seems to have an affinity for Charleston or the surrounding area, the dealer may get blown away.

 

I called and spoke with Katie and she said that my Clubman was already in production and gave me my VIN. I couldn't get any more information out of her on what stage it was in, but I will call my MA later and see if he knows more.

 

Called AskMini yesterday and got my production date of Sept 8. I guess that puts my MCS in week 37!

I only made a few changes in my order while waiting since August 12 when I ordered the Mini. I changed from Punch black to Black lounge and finally to Redwood Red. My MA did not tell me you could pick the interior trim, so, it was set at Piano Black. I changed that to Oak when I realized you could take your pick!

I was told that it would be finished by Sept. 15, and then sent to shipping.

HooRay!!!

 

I've been on cloud nine all day! I ordered my Clubman on July 26. It seems like a lifetime ago!

OL still hasn't updated me, but my MA and ASK MINI said Bianca is in production! Yea!!!

My MA is saying I should have her the first week of October!

Great news on Bianca. My info in the OL update the day after I was told mine was in production, including the VIN. So hopefully you will see it tomorrow.

 

Just spoke to Ask Mini, my Clubman S will be done on 9/8 and shipped on 9/15. I was told earlier this week by Ask Mini my car would start on 9/8. Today my MA called and said in was already in production, so that is why I called Ask Mini.

I should see my car around the first week of October.

I sure hope you're right on possibly catching the ship on the 8th , but the 12th is OK too as I will be out of the country from 10-4 to 10-11 and I don't want Rupert sitting at the dealership for my arrival to pick him up. You'd think I would be calmer this time around as this is my second time with waiting for production, shipment and delivery. But I think I'm even more excited. Rupert's baby book is already in process!

Looks like we might be in the same boat, (or on the same boat), mine should start production on 9/8 also, and will be picking mine up at Roadshow too. This is my second time around waiting and tracking and waiting, waiting, calling Ask Mini daily.

 

Ask Mini told me I am now scheduled for week 38. They do not know why it was pushed back another week. This is twice now!!!!

 

I got my Vin# and my mini will be born on 9/9/08.
