Missed the boat

Looks like I missed the 9/12/08 boat to Charleston SC. I have been checking the WW site keying in my VIN and have gotten nothing positive.
So, I guess my JCW Clubman S will be sitting on the dock at Southhampton waiting for the tide to come in an bring another vessel. I was completed and passed QC on 9/9/08.

Emma Bean,

Check this link out: http://www.ais-live.co.uk/AIS%20Live...uthampton.html

If you click on the satellite button top right and zoom in on the Caribbean Hwy ship, you can see lots of MINI's waiting to catch a ride. Hopefully yours is one of them!

Kellypgh is like the cheerleader of Week 37. Whenever someone is down due to their Minis not coming quick enough, she is the first one to try and pick them up.

*Stands Up... starts slow clap*

(This is where everyone posts additional stand ups and claps along until we are in full roar).

I just found out that my little guy is in the body shop and still has a completion date of tomorrow. Now I guess my next obsession will turn to finding out which ship he's gonna be on.

Clap, Clap, Clap.......add me to the crowd here in Wk 37 as we cheer eachother on

Kellypgh! Thanks for the link, that is awesome. My port doesn't have anything so advanced for the customers... we're way behind the Brits here on this sort of thing. I work at Port Newark. Too bad the Minis go to Jersey City, I was going to try to get a peek in at the Ro/Ro operations and get some photos for everyone.

Woohoo! I'm on the Indy 2 This is faster than I thought. If yours was built by yesterday, check the WW site!

Now that ship you told us to look at is a K-Line right?

I'm holding out hope that will be my Mini's home for a few weeks.

It all seems so much more of a reality when you can see semi live images of the ships and those cute, colorful mini's all lined up and ready to come home. That's so cool that you work at a port too. What is the Ro/Ro operations?

Yes, the Caribbean Hwy is part of K-Line.

Woot Woot for all aboard the Indy II.

Ro/Ro = Roll on, Roll off; auto cargo. We operate some but not Mini or BMW.
The INDEPENDENCE II has a callsign of WGAX
It was last reported in Hamburg, so it doesn't look like we'll be able to track it often unless it's got a new captain who reports position more often.
You can track by callsign at: http://www.sailwx.info

Wow, that is so cool that you understand all of this. Hopefully you can help us understand how we can track the ships.

I'm confused on the Indy II. It shows that its moored but on the satellite image it doesn't appear to be there. Do you think it hasn't come into port yet or has left already? I saw somewhere where it isn't due in until 23:10 today.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I called AskMini yesterday, and the rep said it was not in prodction yet. I tried your method this morning, and my MCC is in paint & will be completed tomorrow!!

Automated production status gave me the bad news:
"Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel. There's no shipping information available at this time."

Not looking good for me making Independence II. The WW site still tells me:
"No tracking information is available for the Cargo ID you entered"

Looks like Bronwyn's next opportunity to go to Brunswick, GA is a week away (9/19) aboard the Don Quijote or the Patriot on 9/20

Is it possible that some of us got put on the K-Line boat and that it just takes a day for the ASK-MINI to update??

I know I know... I'm holding onto straws here. But that is my week 37 job. We already have a cheerleader. I'm the straw holder.

Week 36 interloper and ship watcher here!! That satellite photo is from Google Earth, and is days old -- it's the exact same picture, with the same ships and cars in the same positions, that another Week 36er posted on Monday. The position tracker with the dots for the ships shows where they are right now. Both ships are still moored. Caribbean Highway is now scheduled for departure at 20:15 local time tonight (3:15 EDT?), Indy II at 23:00. Here's the Shipping Movements schedule for Southampton. The Caribbean Highway's schedule was changed between last night and this morning, now leaving 4 hours later than originally scheduled. Hope this helps, and hope we all get on one ship or another!

Ah, Tancred to the rescue! You are such a wealth of information. Week 36'ers are sure lucky to have you. Thanks for the clarification. I was wondering when the satellite didn't show anything but figured since it was still in moored position, it was right.

Hopefully you will hitch a ride today!

Ask Mini

I spoke to Riley a moment ago and he said that once our minis leave the plant and are in transport Ask Mini can no longer give us updates and our MA or Dealer should be able to assist us.

So, if you are in "transport" not "en route" the Dealer is the only option for updates. Since my MA lacks communication skills, I going to go out and buy a crystal ball.

I just got the ever-wonderful "At the port of exit" status from ASK-MINI today....

These cars are small enough, we should all be able to fit on the Indy II.

The Carribean Highway has left. I'm REALLY hoping that my car is on it. Although I probably should not get my hopes up.
