Week 37 support group
I spoke to Riley a moment ago and he said that once our minis leave the plant and are in transport Ask Mini can no longer give us updates and our MA or Dealer should be able to assist us.
So, if you are in "transport" not "en route" the Dealer is the only option for updates. Since my MA lacks communication skills, I going to go out and buy a crystal ball.

Emma, since your MA is not a great communicator, have you tried his/her manager? The other route you can try is the Finance man/woman at your dealership. I'm financing through my credit union and told the finance guy at my dealership, but he said that he's going to give me some papers anyway (not sure exactly what, but he's been very nice about taking my calls and giving me status when my MA is not available)

Choose Auto Cargo on the right
enter your VIN
It will tell you what ship. You might be on the Independence II which reaches Georgia on 9/29. The ship schedule is here (page 2)
http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...pe=generatePDF
The Independence II sailed at approximately 6 PM Eastern time.
Blue has posted a link to the schedule of ships that you should check out.
If you can't find your VIN on the WW website, your MINI might be on a K-Line ship (depending on where you are in the US).
Hope this helps
And I forgot, according to the awesome tracking info thread:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=144057
Your MA might be able to tell you what line or ship you are on. Bug 'em

In a black hole (um, I mean "In production")
I've read the tracking threads and see everyone talking about "in the paint shop", getting ready to be "trucked to the port," etc.. but can't for the life of me figure out how you got this information. The Ask MINI people always say to me "well, it's in production and that's all we can tell you" and "no, we don't have any information on production codes." I've called about 10 times. The OL is pretty much useless for tracking.
So, how do you people get this information if not from AskMINI or the OL?

I've been calling Ask MINI (aka 866 Crackpipe) and, rather than talking to an actual person, used the automated option. I've selected Vehicle Production Status, then given my Production Number (all to the computer voice on the other end of the phone) and it's told me the status of my car (the real Red Fred) - i.e. in the body shop, scheduled for completion on 9/13. Give that a try. The OL doesn't really tell me all that much....just prolongs the agony.
Congratulations to all those Week 37ers that were able to catch the Independence II and the Caribbean Highway. As for me, I just called 866 Crack Pipe and heard "I'm sittin' on the dock of the bay, Watching the tide roll away. Ooo, I'm just sittin' on the dock of the bay, Wastin' time".
Maybe next week my Mini will catch a ride on the Don Quijote!

srahaim,
I know how you feel... all I kept hearing was your car is scheduled for production with a completion date of September 13th. Then in the past two days the info started changing, so keep dialing that 1-866-crackpipe number. Yesterday my little mini was in the body shop and this morning (I called the minute I opened my eyes and I could reach for a phone
) my mini was in the paint shop!!! So your car should be moving along right along as well! When is your completion date? Hang in there!

Production was completed on 9/8, and I have been at the port since the 9th. The VIN search at the Wallenius site keeps coming up empty, and today crackpipe says I am still at the port. I was hoping that I might be on the Caribbean Highway, but since that set sail yesterday and my status has unchanged I am guessing I missed it.
"Sittin' in the mornin' sun, I'll be sittin' when the evenin' come. Watching the ships roll in, and then I watch 'em roll away again, yeah"
I had been struggling with a name for my Mini, I think the name Otis (after Otis Redding) might just fit.

KELLY PGH THANKYOU
I spoke to the manager, she said she has had a few other mini pending parents-to-be complain about him too. So, she asked us to talk to her directly and she will handle us. It sounds like our MA is on his way out.
We did not finance our mini because it is that mid life crisis vehicle for me. And, I told myself that if I was going to buy a mini it would be cash only. I understand that is not always possible but it works for me.

Hey Casey,
I don't have a name for my mini yet either...I just can't decide. Maybe I'll have to see her in person to finally make up mind. My car is scheduled to be finished today. I am hoping to catch a ride on the Don Quixote also...hopefully my mini can keep Otis company all the way to Ohio!

Hang in there Casey
Casey,
Call your MA and see if he/she has any more information. You may have caught the Indy II. As I was reading your post today (9/13) I called 1-866-mini-crack just to see what the automated response would say, it replied that I was awaiting transport. The WW website had my VIN with a status of "Loaded on Vessel" at 11:48 UK time (6:48 EDT) on 9/12.
If you have a good MA, they might be able to get you more information than websites.
Hoping you catch a ride soon if your MINI isn't already pool side Twisting by the Pool

Was the manager able to give you any definitive answers? I'm getting a little frustrated with my MA.
As an example, I called him on Thursday morning and left a message that I wanted to set up a meeting to make sure he was clear on everything the dealer would be installing and also talk with people in financing. (I am financing part of it and am looking at BMW as well as CU financing). I haven't heard back from him and told him I need to do it this week because I'm on vacation... its not like I'm hounding him everyday about the status of production! I like him but he is kinda flighty and I'm concerned that he is going to miss something or my car will arrive and it will take them a couple of weeks to take care of the invisashield, graphics, tinting and armrest because it wasn't planned out/scheduled in advance.
I may need to escalate to the manager as well.
I guess we 'expectant parents' can be a little high maintenance
(certainly more than the average car buyer)

Um.... Emma? I think that you're responding to my post about calling the dealer and talking to the manager or finance person?
I'm INVISIBLE!!! Oops. Sorry. That's just lots of frustration talking. First I was scheduled for week 36, then bumped to week 37. Then I was sitting on the dock of the bay -- I mean the port in Southamption waiting to be loaded on the Independence II and it SAILED WITHOUT BIANCA!!!!! I've called my MA for updates and she's either not there or she doesn't return my calls. The finance manager told me today that he's not sure whether Bianca will be on the Don Quixote. So, I'm very frustrated and feeling left out, overlooked, ignored, etc. Please don't take it personally.
I definately missed the Boat.
The manager at our dealership in Charleston SC said we are still sitting on the dock at Southhampton.
WW is the carrier that brings BMW and MINI to Charleston and the Independence II had the nerve to leave me on the dock when is scooted
out of the harbor in Southhampton.
She (Dealer's manager) said we could be on the next vessel out on the 19th.
She said the Mini plant has been really cranking
out the cars since they came back from their mandatory two week vacation (week 34 and 35). Which means there a many Minis
(more than Mini expected) waiting to meet their parents and are sitting on the dock at Southhampton.
So, if your Mini did not make the boat last week rest assure (Dealer's Manager said) that it is in good company at the Southhampton Nursery with the other Minis waiting for their cruise clearance.
Our Dealer's Manager has a good sense of humor.

Bluemeanie357 - Thanks for the links
I called up the 1st link, plugged in the vin and saw my Clubman was loaded on the Independence 2. I then call up the second link and saw that it arrives in NY on Sept 22. Maybe you should apply for a job with AskMini?
Thanks for the encouragement minimo and TLPD!
My MA, while a nice guy, is not the most helpful person in the world. I think the fact that Mini's sell themselves might have something to do with that. I had called him early last week and asked if he had access to shipping information for my Mini. He referred me here to the NAM website, and to be truthful I have found more useful information and helpful people here than I have ever found from any auto dealership. I am pretty happy to be associated with such a great group of people!
minimo, I am sure that Otis and your mini to be named will be quite close after spending so much time together at the port and then on the ship.

I feel your pain. I was originally told I was week 36, then told week 37 and even now I have ended up being the very end of week 37. My little guy is due to be finished tomorrow however the crack line is telling me I'm still in the paint shop.
Don't get me wrong-I know how busy they are and how many MINI's they are pushing through. As a matter of fact I would rather they spend the extra time needed to make sure everything is "perfect". Once everything is done however, I want on the first ship available and "full steam ahead"
I'm wondering since there are some cars who missed the Indy II and Caribbean Hwy, if I will get bumped on the 19th like you this week.
Sometimes I think we would be better off not being able to track our MINI's. Its really cool/fun but it is rather stressful. I was at a gas station today and got so excited when I saw a MINI pull up, I almost accosted the driver and drove off with theirs!
I think I need to go take a valium and chill.

Each time I see a Mini
and their owner is present I begin to bore
them with my waiting story. One guy said he waited 6 months
for his to even get into production. He ordered last December and got delivery the middle of August.
Needless to say he has been zipping about running errands. Our (She) Dealer's Manager said I could come by and hug
on the cars they have instock and sit in one as long as I wanted to curtail my anxiety.
She said the "en route" period is not as hard as the wait when the the car arrives at the Distribution center ( in my case, Greenville SC) for custom work and QC sign off. This is about a week in addition to the 14-16 days cruise.
Then the Mini is shipped (back to Charleston, SC) to the Dealer, who will take approximately 1-3 days to QC it again before releasing it to its new parents. PHEW

Is your Port of Entry Charleston? I was wondering if Ohio was the same as PA. Maybe I'll get through QA in time to catch the Don Quijote this week too.
