Well folks, I called ASK MINI this morning and talked to a live rep. Apparently I got moved up because my baby started production today!!!!! She will be completed on 7/16.....I will be moving over to the Week 28 Group.

 

Lucky you... did you see an update in the OL as well?

 

No OL still shows "On order"

Just got off the phone with my MA and was told I'm a week 29er. Looks like I'm the only east-coaster on the list so far. I was told to expect car to be at dealership the last week in August.
I live in Charleston SC, the site of a delivery port.

Order Date: 6/30/08
Production week 29 (July 14th)
EDA: Last week in August

MC, SS/roof in body color, Premium Package, Multi function wheel w/bluetooth, sport seats, gotham grey interior. Everything else standard/stock.

Oh yeah, and like everyone else on this site...a healthy dose of OCD

Just found out I'm a Week 29er! Final destination is Helena, AL via Atlanta, GA... ordered ours over the internet through an Atlanta MINI dealer... we made a quick decision at the last minute to drive over and test-drive one before confirming the order. We were sold on MINI before ordering and in love after the test drive.

Good color choice Helenamini . I got the SS as well except with roof in body color only because I was worrid about a black roof car in steaming Charleston summers. Got gotham grey interior for same reason.

YIKES! Just called ASK MINI and they could not find my production # They were able to look it up on Monday no problem. It still shows up on the OL and the automated system still registers the number just fine. Weird, hope there are no problems. Anyone else have similar issues?

 

Sounds like a user error (not you, the ASKMINI person keying in the #). I wouldn't sweat it yet. If they were able to find Monday and it still shows up OL then I think it's minor. Wait 24 hrs. and then talk to someone else at ASKMINI.

I bet they'll have it.

Well I figured it could have been talking to someone who was new or didn't know what they were doing so I called back about 45 minutes later and talked to someone different. Still they could not find my production number. They did mention the system went down earlier. Crossing my fingers its there tomorrow and is just some database problem.

 

Hooray! Called again this morning and they were able to find my production# no problem.

They could not find a production start date, but my MCSa is scheduled for completion on 7/16. The guy on the phone said that likely means production starts tomorrow or this weekend!!!

 

Seems like I am back in week 29. I assumed incorrectly that I got bumped up.

My MA said to me in an email, "Your car is the next 3rd Cooper S in line to get built."

Hmm... your MA probably changed his mind mid-sentence from saying "next" to "3rd", just didn't hit the backspace?

Have you tried calling ASK MINI?

 

Your car may have actually entered production on 7/8 (Week 28) if it is to be completed on 7/16. You want to verify the information. It takes eight days to build from first weld to completion.

Week 29 begins 7/14

 

i just got the automated. . . in production completion date 7-15!!!! that makes me 28, i think. . .

 

Looks like it...wow a few unexpected bumps....yipeee
