if only balt, then it will be trucked up, i find it very very unlikely for them to put it on another vessel. they would also charge much more for that

Hey Double O...glad to see another cabrio here. That makes three of us.

I just talked with my MA and I am still dockside, but she assured me indoors. She reminded me I was a July build scheduled for August delivery. In her words, she knows I am excited, but I am ahead of schedule.
Hopefully I get on a ship tomorrow.

 

Do you know if you were booked on Southern Highway?

Is your destination port NY?

 

I missed an important detail when reading the K-Line schedule...

The left-most column lists the ports, but NY(Newark) is not in that column, however, in the column for Southern Highway and the row for Jacksonville (the next stop after Baltimore) is the entry '03-AUG/NEWARK' which is the arrival date indicated on the WW site.

 

Gee willikers! I just checked, WW and I am also on the Southern Highway!

Since when do K-Line ships show up on the WW website? This is great news, as otherwise I would have been at the docks until 7/31 at the very least.

It says my destination port is definitely NYC. They can't unload the car in Baltimore since there is no VDC there.

NO I am headed to Charleston SC. With K-line there is no way to see if you are booked. I guess once they are underway, you MA can tell you.

 

I would recommend you search on WW for your VIN. It seems that WW is now providing booking info for K-Line, at least this is the case for Southern Highway going to NY.

I found out this morning on the WW site that my MINI is booked on Southern Highway leaving 7/25.

 

Like I posted above, the Southern Highway does show up on the WW tracking system. I put in my VIN and it advised me that I am booked on the Southern Highway with destination NY.

 

Are you sure it is Southern Highway. They aren't scheduled to stop in NY...just Charleston for BMW/MINI. K-line only goes to Charleston according the the schedule from Southampton.

If you popped your VIN into WW then you may already be on the Fedora which left last week....it stops in NY. Next ship to hit NY from Southhampton is the WW Don Juan which leaves on 7/31.

I promise. It definitely says Southern Highway, and destination NY. I was just as shocked, since I automatically assumed that I would have to wait until 7/31.

Just try your vin, in the WW system. You may get lucky.

I just called my MA, and my car is supposed to be here in the country by the end of the month!?!?!?

He thinks it might get to them before the 25th, now. Only I'll be on vacation from the 15th to the 24th, so it probably won't matter.

Help...I am so confused. According to the gouge in the track your MINI Sticky, it says when looking at the K-Line schedule, you first have to look at the K-Line North Atlantic Shuttle. There is no NY or Newark in the schedule.

There is a NY stop on the K-Line East Atlantic Shuttle, but those are not car carriers and the ship name changes even though the same column is being used.

If you are getting different info, please share....cause I am lost

As for the K-Line schedule, if you zoom in on this particular journey for the Southern Highway, in the slot for Jacksonville port, it says August 03 Newark.

I think that because there was such a long drought between WW ships to NYC (10 days) WW leased this one trip from K-Line. Just a guess.

 

Just found out that I am on a ship that is scheduled to arrive in Charleston on July 31st. As such, right now I should be somewhere out in the middle of the Atlantic.

From the tracking sticky, download the latest K-Line schedule. New York (Newark) is not listed on ports which it stops, but instead is added into the slot for the Jacksonville with the note "Newark" next to the date.

I think believe Pretzel Logic may have the, err, logical explanation as to why the NY stop for K-Line is showing up on the WW searches when K-Line historically has never been tracked through WW. He suggests that WW hired Southern Highway to transport this booking to NY because of the long delay between the other WW vessels. This would explain why the orders destined to Charleston (and others) on Southern Highway do not show up on the WW site.
