The Owner's Lounge section of the "How-to" needs to be updated. It is no longer a good source of information. My BRG MINI is built and waiting on the docks for a ship but the OL still lists it as Pepper White and "On Order". You'll find everyone in the Support Group threads is having a similar experience w the OL.

 

Honestly...when I was waiting for my car...the information at the OL was inaccurate and almost totally useless...

 

OK so I ordered my MCS on May11 and my production # still does not work at the OL. My MA keeps telling me to be patient and I know it will come, but I was told by the manager at my local dealership that if I took delivery before the end of June he would take $1500 off the sale price! Therefore I hope to be able to track it at the OL soon.

Can anyone else give me an idea if this time frame fits? In other words ordered and 11 days later the production number still does not work at the OL.

 

I'm not really sure. In my case the dealership changed out a car that they already had ordered for the lot for the configuration that I wanted built instead...so mine was listed as ready for production the day that they put my order in. If you are waiting for another production spot for that dealership to come up...it may be a longer wait.

On the other hand if you already have a production number...the problem just could be with the OL system not having been update. I didn't find it very helpful (it showed the wrong car being produced for me right up to delivery).

I would try calling the 800 number at MINI to get an update...they seemed to have information that wasn't in the OL (including the right car type).

In any event...I would say from my experience that if it hasn't gone into production yet...it's going to be tight getting delivery before the end of June. But I could be wrong...

 

Call 866-ask-mini to track your car. The OL doesn't work.

 

My MA sent me an email that my car started production today. It still does not show up at the OL but when I called and spoke with someone at 1-866-miniusa who said it began production today at 8:07 am.

Yeah!!

Now the waiting begins and I still hope it gets to the dealer before the end of the June so I can get the $1500 discount the manager offered.

 

Why would the manager put an arbitrary date out of your control as a conditon for a discount?

 

Don't know why the manager made the comment. He initially made it to try to sell inventory on the lot but then stated if I took delivery before the end of June it would apply to an ordered car too.

I wait to see if this will be an issue. If it comes in in early July and I am not given the discount it is not a good begining to our relationship.

Is the chassis number the same as the VIN number? I'm stationed in Germany and I have an order number and chassis number and neither one seem to work for the owner's lounge. Do I not have the right numbers or is it because I ordered in Germany?

I'm scheduled for 9 Jul delivery.... can't wait to tour Germany with the sunroof open

 

Must be production number or VIN on U.S. market MINI only from what I understand.

Seriously though, the ship manifests and cargo shortcuts worked great, love it!

 

A quick up date on my MCS:

Ordered May 11
Production started May 24
Shipped out of South Hampton on June 8 and due to arrive in Baltimore on June18th (travelling across the pond on th WW Faust.)
Still hoping to take delivery before June 30th.

 

We had ours ordered on April 30th and it was delivered to port in Baltimore, MD on May 25th. Pretty quick turnaround from order date to completion. Now, however, it's the VDC acting as the holdup. Talked to our MA the other day and he indicated that he has a total of 12 cars down there right now waiting for carrier shipment up here to Dublin, OH. Not sure what the issue is. I have seen some other posts (outside of NAM) indicating that delays could be related to emissions testing procedures.
The wait continues....still within 6 weeks though if it winds up coming before the middle of this month.
Also, for all the folks on here talking about the inaccuracy of the OL, we also had issues with that system during the entire build process. The MINI phone number and MA were the best options.
Be sure to fire up that Marine Traffic website and search for the name of your WW ship!

 

This thread was SO helpful. Thanks to all who put to together. One question...do we need to add Baltimore to the ports of entry for MINI? My Clubbie S is coming in there around the 28th of July - two days from now on a WW line (TALISMAN). Wahooo!

 

YEP - Baltimore is another port of entry. Mine came in on WW's Topeka a day early (scheduled for 7/20, arrived 7/19). Can't find any info on the VDC here but they turned it around quick and it was shown as released to carrier on 7/20. Then....my dealer in VA did not see it until 7/24. Picked it up this afternoon! FINALLY.

 

A belated post. I got my MCS on Saturday, June 26th!

ugh! Car arrived at Port Hueneme on July 27th. Dealer claims that trucking times from the port to the dealer in Long Beach takes 1 day but keeps telling me that the car hasn't left the port yet! Is anyone else having delay issues with cars at Port Hueneme right now???

 

Can someone tell me where the "final processing center" is? I searched the forum for mentioning of this mythical place and only came back with 4 or 5 instances of it being mentioned, and it seemed that delivery occurred about 5-7 days after being reported in that status.

I've negotiated a purchase price on an inbound which is showing this status. Does this mean that the car has landed on the coast and being prepped for transport to the dealership?

 

So I just ordered my baby yesterday and I was able to snag a dealer production slot (they had 3, I got #2!). It says on my spec sheet that the status is 112- "Scheduled for Daily Production Pack". Does this mean it has a production week already allocated, and theoretically I could call ASKMINI on Monday and find out my production slot? My dealer said 4-6 weeks, but that seems pretty typical and my MA didn't really offer up any production date. *sigh* let the games begin I guess

 

These were great instructions - especially since I was struggling finding my ship on the ocean tracker. So excited to see she has left the English Channel and is headed to open water.
