I'd like to see a picture of this "scoop melt" problem I've heard about. Haven't noticed it on mine??
I'll take some pictures in the coming day or so. One way you can see the sag is to look at the scoop head on and look at the top middle part of the scoop. If you can see an indentation or depression where it varies from the metal part of the bonnet, that's what it's all about. Apparently, over time the sag gets deeper and deeper...

I know there's other threads about this, but I'm being lazy... You know if this is limited to the color scoops, or the chrome, or....

I have the chrome one.. I expect it to melt faster if the non-chrome ones are. So far I haven't noticed anything. It'd be a real bummer if it melts. The chrome scoop is one of my favorite features and makes the BRG look fantastic!

Thanks!!

I'd read about 4 pages of that thread last month, then forgot about it. I do finally see someone posted a pic of the actual dip they are talking about.

Interesting.

So how's everyone doing??

Those Week 23 people have us put to shame on their posts, LOL!

Has anyone done mods of any sort yet?

I'm thinking of getting the chrome line interior, and mudflaps. If I get get a decent price on installation for them, it's a go. We'll see!!

No mods yet, but the mudflaps and chrome interior are nice. Good move.....

I did pay some cash for cleaning supplies... And I got the CD holder that fits on the visor for the MP3 disks I burned... Nice that I can get every Led Zeppelin song on one disk and the Mini recognizes the song names, etc.... Handy when I forget to bring my iPod!

Lady G...

I'm doing fine. Running and hiding from crazies on the forum. Oh....

I've been wondering - the chrome line interior - is the dealership going to do the work? Please let us know if the install price is nutso.

Joe

Yeah, I've had my fair share of run-ins with crazies, too!

For chrome, I'm seeing if it would be less if I just do the dash in chrome, not the doors or cupholders. We'll see what they come up with.

kbleicher, what brand did you go with for detailing products? I currently have Meguiars, because I was impatient, but am going to get Zaino.

I need that sun visor CD thing, too. I hate having CD cases in the glove compartment!

I bought a Pooch Style mat for my Clubman. Does that count as a mod? Since it's easily removable, I'm guessing not. But, like you LadyG, I'm thinking of getting the mud flaps. I'm hoping that they'll help keep the backend a bit cleaner. With all the rain we've had this year, it's hard to keep the Clubby clean, especially the back window.

Well, the melting hood scoop has been replaced with a JCW carbon fiber scoop - which should resist melting pretty well (see pic in my gallery). It looks sweet on the dark silver car!

Other "mods" include a stubby antenna, tinting all around (save the windshield), a kuda mount for the nuvi, hard wiring for my Iomego eGo 160gb hard drive, and Craven STDs.

I'm seriously looking at the DDW CAI race system, an ECU chip (not sure about JCW or ALTA), and either an intercooler bezel or upgraded intercooler.

I'm loving this car! (warts included)

Joe,

Just wondering if Elphie was stalking our mini again. Saw a PW/B clubman at the cracker barrel off Daniels road last night...

Scoop looks great!

I've been thinking about that stubby, too. I would really prefer that "shark fin" type, though, and don't think that is available.

No that wasn't me... We were out there but in my wifes mini-van... She wanted to drive.

How are things going on with you? I'm sick of the rain. I think we've had about 15 inches of rain here over the past two days.

Lady G... I've been thinking about the shark fin type. I was thinking about going to the local BMW store to see if it would fit. I haven't had the time to get there yet. I may have to just order one from Alta and be done with it.

hfs, many of the mods you are looking at I'm thinking about doing myself. right now I'm leaning towards the DDM CAI system. If you go to the mods section you will find a decent thread on Alta vs DDM.

Joe,

EWverything is well in our side of FL.... Just tired of all of the rain. BUT we do need it. Still debating on getting rid of the truck and looking for a 2nd car for a daily driver.... At a loss for choices...

I am realizing there are way too many cool things to order and do to Elphie now. I need to win the lottery to do everything.
