You sir, are missing out on some serious fun.

Without Sport mode, how would I make it from the Holland Tunnel through the 6 sets of green lights in the 12 seconds before they turn yellow? [Yes I have this timed, 12 seconds from my first green light to make it six blocks] Without Sport mode, how would I be able to power through a left turn signal, switch through the three clear lanes, and merge through an S-bend onto the highway? Without Sport mode, how would I give the BMWs and Lexus drivers on the Parkway a run for their money?

Don't be afraid, be daring!

I don't have the same dedication. I treat my MINI to a car wash every Tuesday morning. The guys at the car wash treat it very well but I know the insides of my rims are very very sad

Oddly, i've only washed my car maybe 4 times. That Epic is awesome, half the time i just need to use a duster, and that's with daily morning dew on the car.

the rims... *sigh* amazing how much dust they put out.

Unlocking hatch without remote

That does make sense, Gemgirl. Here's a quote from another thread: ..... if your car is set to auto-lock upon drive-off (like mine is), try to get in the habit of hitting the "central unlock" switch on the dashboard console toggle bank before exiting. This will automatically unlock all doors, including the boot/hatch, plus keep you from having to do a "double-pull" to unlock the other doors....

This does the trick !

Wife took my MINI to haul around a job applicant at work --- what an excuse ...driving her Camry almost put me to sleeppppzzzzzzz.

Out here inna sticks where cows roam the streets, we have to brake a little more, so we MCS owners pride ourselves on how fast we can stop rather than how fast we can go . If we had a tunnel, it might be used for silage storage....

I do wash every week, but I know I'm not getting the insides of those white wheels. Some day, I'll pull them off and scrub em down.

Sounds reasonable to me... shall we spam him with color/combo "recommendations" for you? maybe that'll move him in the right direction... unless he's a rock hopper, then the clubby won't work so well.

My brother is painting PeeWee's brake calipers as we speak... so now I'm stuck here for the next 24 hours. That's all good though. More time for NAM.

Please post pics when done. I'm debating black or red but still not sure. I'll probably do it the same day I spray my rims black.

Sure thing! He's already done a few mins ago but I'll just take pics in the morning. It's already dark out. We opt for red. It looks really nice. Stands out esp with PW/PW.

So you're blacking out everything huh?

I found him building on "just for the fun of it" so he says...
I will let you all know if I need with that spam help!
I think that would be great to have 2 MINI's in the drive way.

Has anyone joined their local MINI Motoring Clubs yet? I did right after I brought Nugget home and so far have met lots of really nice MINI people and went on 2 rallies. Planning the third one in about a month from now. First one we did was a 4 hour drive throught Philadelphia, and the second was a country road drive 2 1/2 hours long. Always ending with lunch somewhere, a chance to sit and chat with everyone. Loads of fun.

Absolutely. Only thing left is wheel arches and rims (Check Gallery).

Hey Gemgirl, How do you like the club you joined I've been contemplating that one. Where do they normally meet? ride lengths? Is it a come as you go type of club "relaxed" or are they serious and expect you to show up on every event. Thanks

Iron, i really like it alot! Great group of people, and lots of fun. They are very organized, what i love the most is every event is to raise money for some type of organization. first one was to raise money for meals on wheels and this last one was for canines for life (training seeing eye dogs).
They do have a list on the main page site of activities and you do have to RSVP reason being is every event has a lunch and they need a head count for the restaurant. phillymini.org. you should check it out. and let me know if you join, the next couple events we will miss because I will be out of the country for vacation (Scotland in October) so the next rally i will do is the scavenger hunt in Deleware. this one sounds like loads fun!!!

Tweekey, I like that look a lot! Especially with the PW.

Did you take them off the wheel or paint them while they were in place?

Hey Richs10, thanks, I do too! My brother just painted them while they were in place. Took him the whole afternoon to do that plus 3 coats of paint.
--while I stood and watched.. [only for the second coating then I got bored].

Has anyone else recieved one of these yet? Today is exactly 75 days since I took delivery...seems like a viable time frame for MINI to send something to new owners, but who knows?
I like how you took the time to arrange all these zoned.

Wow he painted calipers w/o taking off the wheels? That's a bold move. Mine are surely coming off and getting taped up!

Tweeckey's Co-Pilot

Hey Guys,

Jut thought I'd chime in. I've been lurking around too much.

I did take off the wheels. Two at a time in fact since I only have two jack stands. It took me about 3-4 hours painting it since I was doing some other things. I did three coats per caliper. If you have a heat gun you may use that to speed up drying time and maybe do more coats.

I used the brush on caliper paint kit and not the spray. Didn't really like the idea of red overspray on a white car.

Wow, look who decided to drop by.. haha.

Toolazy I though Richs10's question was if he took them off the hub. So that's why I said he didn't. Heheh..
