All Aboard TURANDOT! Feb 11, 2008
Thanks for the pictures--we all shared a little fun today. For a bit more, check out YouTube e-trade baby video. My son pointed this out me--'bout peed my pants with laughter.
I think there is two. The one with the clown is especially funny.

The two previous ships ahead of us did not report their positions to sailwx. However they also did not report their positions in the Atlantic.
"Our" captain
, however chose to do so.
He may start reporting his position once he gets out to sea (he is still in the Gulf of Panama).
In a few hours you can check: http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shi...html?call=sgba
If he doesn't show up there, then we are likely in the dark until the ship arrives in the Los Angeles vicinity next weekend.

i know i was looking for all of the same info yesterday, and either just missed it or wasn't persistant enough!
i too am awaiting a sparkling silver MCS, but i went with the black racing stripes instead of the bonnet & boot. thanks again!

When the Turandot left Southampton, it was 1-2 days before she started reporting to sailwx. If we don't see anything by tomorrow night, we probably won't until Sunday when she is close enough to show up on AIS.
A universe without MINIS is like cake without Milk

In addition to our Minis, the Turandot is also carrying BMWs from Germany.
Over on the BMW forum: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113551 they have also been following the Turandot's progress. Some of those people have (ah-hum) a lot more resources at hand to track the ship.
However, at this point they are as clueless as we are about the location of the ship. Keep an eye on their thread - they may yet come up with something!

WOW thats great of your MA to let you know that. Did you buy yours at Irvine Mini?
Be glad you're in CA and will get your MINI quickly. Those of us in the Northwest have an even longer, agonizing wait for our MINIs to get trucked up
I'm about ready to go drive it up myself!

By tonight, the Turandot should have traveled around 1800 miles from Panama. There is a slight chance she will show up on ais when she is off the coast of Baja which is 2300-2800 miles from Panama.
Hi--I was under the impression the VDC keeps them while some type of red-tape paper work is completed...? How long does it take to get them to to NW? Seems I also remember the dealer saying something about they keep them a few days also for "detailing". I really wanted to save the $150 charge and wash the thing myself, but they convinced me, this is what they usually do. Strange, no tracking available up the Pacific?...
They are going to CHARGE you an add'l $150 to wash a brand new car for delivery to you?? That's crazy - You are purchasing a $30K+ car - they need to detail it at no charge. Yikes, the dealers here would never get away with that. It would be like buying a new home and then they charge you for a front door that wasn't included.

I think we should have a counting down party cuz I don't know about all of you but this is frustrating not knowing anything about our boat.
