All Aboard TURANDOT! Feb 11, 2008
Hi Jeremy,
My Clubman arrived in port Feb. 9th. It arrived at North Scottsdale about 7 p.m. on the 19th. I picked it up the 25th as it was really bad weather that week, so I waited for sunny skies.
Thought that might help. They wait to ship them till all are completed at the VDC to go to the same location.
The wait is well worth it. I love the handling so much that I'm going to sell my 330 convertible and get a 2009 Cabrio. I never thought anything would drive better than the BMW, but I am amazed.

My car was just unloaded at the dealer. It will be ready tomorrow but I'm picking it up on Saturday so I can check it out during the day. All the rest of you in So Cal should be getting the call soon.
Here in AZ
I have a feeling we AZ residents will probably be seeing our cars sometime the middle/end of next week, and I'll be out of town skiing through the 18th...
Should I have the wife pick it up for me? Uh, no way..........that baby's MINE!

Foo Fighter, make sure that you post if you hear any news regarding transport of your Mini as I bet ours will be trucking together. Is your agent Drew at N. Scottsdale? He is out of town Thursday and Friday so I won't be hearing much the next couple of days.
AZ
JeremyAZ:
I will definitely let you know if I hear anything. I emailed my sales person (Greg) today but didn't hear back, so I'm thinking he had the day off. Hopefully I'll get an ETA tomorrow.
Is this the first shipment of Clubmans to hit AZ? Or hit anywhere, for that matter?

I had the no. 1 order slot for the Clubman at N. Scottsdale. Picked up my CR/B on the 25th. Mine was in the 1st shipment for custom ordered Clubmans, but Scottsdale received their pre-spec Clubmans on the ship that left before mine. Their prototypes were sitting at the dock in early January, waiting to ship for the Feb. launch. (I had a deposit on Clubby since Jan. 4, 2006)
I think your ship was No. 3 or 4 for the Scottsdale group.

Cloud,
You're one patient soul! I've had 8 cars in the last 4 years but am hopeful that the Mini stands the test of time. I'm already itching to enhance the power with after-market stuff and the JCW package looks extremely tantalizing.....
I know someone who just got their Mini Cooper S with JCW package plus other goodies and his all in cost approached $40k!! However, he's on record as truly loving it which says a lot considering he collects high-line cars like Ferrari/Porsche etc.

I'm patient when I have to be, but I'm nervous as a cat today. I'm having my mudflaps put on at a local foreign car place. He thought it would take an hour, but after being there 90 minutes they drove me to my shop so I could open. Hopefully they won't charge me more than the quote. They are also putting on the grille badge holder from Craven.
Leaving my Clubman there without me is driving me crazy. I know he is taking the time to do a great job, but I worry about it anyway. I should have just paid N. Scottsdale the $150 to do it for peace of mind.
Tomorrow I'm taking the car for the protective film to be put on the headlights and foglights. I tried to do it, but the heavy film and the curvature just didn't work for me. The place that is doing it says the heavier film is difficult to work with, but they will do it for me.
Arrghh. Having him out of my control is killing me.

Any updates on where our mini's are at? I checked miniusa and the status is still the same. I would think that the status would change but it hasn't.
On a lighter note, Cloud10 I'm happy to hear you got your Clubman!

I feel your pain. It was horrible waiting for 10 days after arrival at the VDC. You start wondering if the car was hurt or where it is. I have never been so obsessed with a car. I just had to call to make sure Otto was ok at the foreign car place. I was assured he was fine.
Since I took delivery the need to have your MINI close by you only gets worse. I thought it would lessen once I had him, but now I am as protective as a mother grizzly with new cubs.
I can't wait to see pics of all the new babies arriving. Hope you hear soon from your MA. Waiting is a killer.

miniusa says my car is at the VDC even though it is at the dealer. That's typical of the delay in reporting status that we've seen.
I'm surprised no one else in the LA area has been notified that their car is at the dealer since it's been about a day since mine was dropped off.

I got an email from my MA and she said there are many of other MINIS, including mine, are still at the port and have not made it to the VPC. It will be taking little longer than normal. Still MINIUSA site said "En Route"....

Every time I have a little break here at work
I check every possible place for any news. It's horrible not knowing where your car is at. I think the tension is setting in more since the days counting down to delivery come closer.
I feel for everyone and I finally understand why people obsess over cars, there like children, pets, and other precious things.
