Our dealership up here in Oregon gave me a $500 quote for 35% window tinting on my mini. I checked locally, and found, what I believe to be, excellent quality window tinting with guarantee good in any state with original owner. 35% isn't very much, and I asked about darker tint. I was told, the police here locally in Eugene give tickets for darker tint on any vehicle not on a truck frame (meaning vans are ok). The police actually carry around a type of device where they will go up to a window and check it's tint %. As I recall, the ticket is $175 per window--and of course, the shop has to charge to take it off.
Just beware. My son told me one of his friend's mom is wealthy enough to just keep paying off the tickets.

We've got pride! If we get pulled over for tickets, shouldn't it be for...something else???

She's in the canal and should be passing under the Centennial Bridge soon.

Go to this link: http://www.pancanal.com/eng/photo/camera-java.html

Click on Centennial Bridge. The ships are coming from upper right to lower left. Just before the ship appears, you will see a couple of tugs scurrying up to meet her.

Following this point she will be seen at the Milaflores Locks.

The ship that is currently passing the Centennial Bridge (1:08 pm) appears to be the ship that preceded the Turnadot this morning. If so, she may be next on camera.

More Minis on the Road

Hi, Mini-folk:
Happy Heart Mom asked if there were more minis around. I sure think so. I travel quite a lot and I have NOTICED more minis here in Oregon, in Northern California, in New York, in Seattle. Pretty much anecdotal data though, Happy Heart Mom, because I am not sure if I notice them because there are more or if I notice them because I am anxiously awaiting the lovely Elna June (On Turandot-MCS Astro Black, Convenience package, Premium package, Sport Package. chrome trim, Redwood leather int.).
Thanks all for the photos of Turandot.

Looks like the excitement is over for the time being? The miraflores cam doesn't seem to be on. The "high resolution" seems to be a snapshot.
So. sdoughter1,you named your mini Elna June? What fun! I plan to order plates "NAKBA" meaning catastrophe. Al-Nakba means catastrophe in Arabic and describes the violent ethnic cleansing that established the state of Israel. 60 years of dispossession.

Miraflores cam is working - two ships are entering the lock now. I am looking at the regular cam not the high resolution cam.

Port Hueneme

I don't know if anyone has found this yet but you can see when Turandot is set to arrive in Port. Check out: http://www.portofhueneme.org/documen...0221172715.pdf

It looks like it's set for March 3 ETA.
