All Aboard TURANDOT! Feb 11, 2008
Well, my son is 15 and stays up all night practically on his X-Box. He talks and plays with people all over the US and even other countries. He likes to sleep late in the morning when he has a chance.
Our appt. is for 10, but not sure when exactly we will get there. He might want pastries from Grand Central Bakery on Weidler first. And I might need a stiff espresso before I hand over the check...

My girl is 9 and boy is 12 and niether one is a morning person - niether is my wife for that matter. Should be a nice trip to Portland over Mt Hood in the tomorrow.
Cheers
Now the good news is...(and I asked to make sure)...if you purchase two minis, they will give you two ink pens free! I just got one today, but it is something to think about next time around...
Home safe and sound with beautiful new baby pepper white mini.

Congratulations, HappyHeartMom!
We are out of town for a business trip and will be picking up our "Wanda" in Portland on Tuesday morning. It may be the last Turandot "class of March 2nd arrival" to be delivered.
Can't wait.....

Got it!
Well, we got her! Had a great time driving her home and we actually had a sunbreak for a while.
Jarid was our MA and we can't say enough about the great Mini experience with him and with Rasmussen!
Here she is:

Good luck, Foo Fighter!

Congratulations wittimini! Get used to attracting attention wherever you go! I just love mine. My son loves it and wants to learn to drive on it and I cannot even imagine ever owning something other than mini. Just wait until the summer and the weather turns nice, I'll be on the road again...M.
Now I will see how good my dealer is. Picked up my mini 3-22. Drove it home 180 miles. Literally, as I pulled into my driveway, I heard an awful metal on metal sound, and my beautiful mini was instantly undriveable. Talk about a teaser!! The thing was a joy to drive, but has had to be towed back to dealer after 180 miles. I have never heard of this happening to anyone.
Certainly, it is an oddball manufacturing defect, and not the dealers fault. But it is their concern. They have been very professional and prompt in returning my calls.
Will keep you posted.
Hopefully none of you other Turandot owners have such tough luck.

The word is that there was a flaw in an output shaft which broke, luckily at the end of my drive rather than somewhere in the middle. Apparently not a common problem, and hopefully a fluke. Not sure when I am getting it back yet.
180 miles on the mini, now 3 weeks in the shop. Apparently there was a redesign on output shaft for 2008, and there are none available in the usa. Dealership is stepping to the plate for me. Looks like I will be able to reorder. probably get the new mini before the part for the old one comes in.
If anyone is still reading this thread, I have something interesting to report. I had a major breakdown at 180 miles of a redesigned part that was apparently on backorder forever. The dealer (Portland) took good care of me. When it appeared the part would be unavailable, they offered to let me order another mini. Just as the order was ok'ed and about to be sent, My part came in. They actuall got the part, fixed the car, and delivered it to me (180 miles away) the same day.
Bravo to Rasmussen Mini in Portland, and to MA Sara in particular!
By the way, my lazer blue Cooper S is an absolute dream!

Oh Mgmeininger! Finally ready to motor!
hope you are happy with your mini now. So far, fingers crossed, no problems with mine. Just got the windows tinted. The back and sun roof windows tinted the legal 35%, and I had clear UV protection coating put on the driver, passenger, and front windshield areas. Just under $400 here in Eugene. Guess I'm ready to motor too.
Good luck to you and all...HappyHeartMom.

I also bought my Mini from Rasmussen in Portland.
I am sorry for your troubles but I am also very happy that Rasmussen's took care of you so well.
After reading about some of the other dealers and how they have supported their customers in time of need, I was worried for you.
I now have 1450 miles on my mini since it was delivered from the Turandot and have enjoyed every minute. Maybe our paths will cross someday.
Motor On.
