my minis home! i picked up my mini around 5 today! it is the greatest thing in the world!

 

Arrrgh.

Our Clubman arrived at the dealer this afternoon; too late for it to be prepped for delivery - and the prep folks don't work tomorrow - so we are now on track to pick it up next weekend. Nothing like waiting another week Ah, well - at least it is there and we'll have it soon. Congrats to those who have taken delivery.

 

Jeremy, I've been following your journey for the Clubman. Let us know how you like it. I'm anxious to hear. It is the best car I've ever had as far as handling.
You will have such a good time picking him up. Say hi to Drew for me. He is the best MA and really does a nice job of delivery.

TomW are you at least going for a Visit?? I certainly would, unless distance prevents you from making 2 trips within a week of each other. I can understand if that's the case.

Finally picked it up this afternoon. My MA (Jerry) and the finance guy were very cool. Everything went very smooth. Love the drive. My girls loved it also. Going for a drive out to PV area tomorrow.

Vudugrl, I didn't see your car there because they keep all the new ones somewhere else. Hopefully you will get yours soon.

 

Congrats stv! I called my dealer yesterday and he mentioned that only 4 cars were delivered and that more are to come. Hopefully mine comes in soon.

Oh! I'm so happy some of you have already been able to pick up your minis! I hope they are all you hoped for. This blog has been so much fun. I wonder if we will remember each other by the pictures of the minis or by our blog names? When I finally get my mini, I will ask my son if he can post a picture of it. Beautiful day here in Eugene OR.

vudugrl.. i'm sure we'll see your pics soon this part of the wait must be the worst because there is no rhyme or reason as to why one car gets to the dealer fast and another takes longer

 

Went and picked up the Mini yesterday afternoon. Just as expected! The funny part was later last night, after dinner, my kids wanted to take a ride in it (they are boys aged 4 and 3). I put in one car seat in the back--plenty of room back there--and took them around the block one at a time. They were loving it! They had smiles on their faces so big and were so enamored by the engine revving sound and the quick cornering (no, I wasn't driving dangerously).

I figured they wouldn't like it too much because they're used to a fully loaded Mercedes GL with dual televisions and the works--but they're now big fans. Anyway, getting the windows tinted later in the week and I think aside from adding my own NAV and Sirius, will keep the mods to a minimum. IMPROVEMENTS/ENHANCEMENTS: At this point I wish they had an option for power seats with memory....oh well.

I'll post pics later this week or weekend. BTW, has anybody taken advantange of the BMW Lease Prepay Deal for Mini's?

I was stopped at a light on the way to work this morning and a brand new red/white Clubman from the same dealer as mine was next to me. That's only the second one I've seen on the road but I'm sure I'll be seeing many more over the next few months.

 

I have been seeing mini's left and right as I drive to and from work. Today was a sad day and I almost started crying not being able to pick up my car yet. I wonder though, my car has today as the estimated date and yet no dealer phone call. Why Anyways I hate to sound like such a cry baby but on the 15th will be 8 weeks since I ordered my car and still have to wait.

Call or email your MA and ask for a status update on your mini. Then let them know what works best for you as a delivery date. I did and my delivery is not until the 15th at 11:30am but at least I know when I will get my new car.

The not knowing is the painful. Good Luck.

 

My delivery date says today, but the status still says at the distribution center. My MA (motoring assistant) says it will definitely be ready next weekend. I have an appointment to pick mine up on the 21st! It's a 6-hour drive so I want to make sure it's going to be there.

 

Oops, I meant motoring advisor. Maybe I was just wishing they really were assisting in this process :(

 

Juniperbear--Might see you there! Trying to make the trip from Eugene to Portland Saturday for a 10 a.m. or so appointment. Your mini looks really sharp--smart of you to get the cold weather package. Say hello to my mini s if you see it, Pepper White with same color roof/ and sun/moon roof also. And Jeremy--how do you like the Clubman so far?

 

I picked up the Clubman on Sunday late afternoon, was able to take it around the block a few times and that's all I had a chance to drive. I'm traveling for work right now so I probably won't drive it again until Thursday or Friday. I'll take pics and give a more detailed review. I'm very excited for those of you who will be picking it up soon!
