I posed part of this comment in the week 9 thread but I think it may be useful here too given your situation... (some new thoughts) I've been thinking that while MINI seems more efficient at building MINI's then shipping them... that if you stop to think through their situation a bit... If they build 200,000 cars a year, that's 3846 vehicles per week... even if every car came to the USA, given the size of the WWL ships, from 5900 to 8000 cars, they probably have to have some cars sitting on the docks for awhile [1,2,3, weeks] to accumulate an entire load... particularly in the winter when sales and production may be relatively slow.

(from week 9) I bet your car will join mine on its trip across the pond... Our dates are very similar. This is what I've figured out so far... My car is currently scheduled on the ship COURAGE previously it was on the PATRIOT... the MINI was ordered on 2/11 Built 2/19... much to my surprise it was scheduled to load on the PATRIOT on that day... it missed the boat.

A check here http://www.port-of-charleston.com/vessel_schedule.asp tells me that COURAGE left Port Charleston on 2/22. A check here http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L... 080330&menu=% shows me that a new Voyage initiates from BREMERHAVEN on 3/6 for COURAGE here http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L...080326&menu=VC shows her in SOUTHAMPTON on 3/10 where I hope to see my Status change to "In Transit." An additional check here http://www.dbh.de/index.php?id=151&L... 080330&menu=% tells me that my car should be in CHARLESTON on 3/22.

If this works out it appears that from order to landing on the shores of the USA... it was 6 weeks. I'm assuming two additional weeks to actually get the car delivered to me here in Ohio... That would get the car here in the first full week of April.

I need a little aislive.com help.

I registered, but can only see a Europe or World overview. Clicking on the NYC area does not zoom in. What am I missing in my impatience??

One thing to remember, that ship that starts in Germany is also carrying BMWs, so you don't need a full 'load' of MINIs per ship. There will be a partial load of cars already on board.

So, based on your math, there should be a full load each week easy. Also, there are more than a few WW and K-line vessels that only carry 4k cars or so.

Hey BunsonH, how about starting in Staten Island first:
http://aisfree.aislive.com/Influx.as...taten%20Island
Clicking around should get you zoomed to different places.

Bear in mind that I think the Faust unloaded cars in two separate places in NJ/NYC, over several days.

As far as my own saga, the sales manager called someone, and found that the truck will only get to the dealer tomorrow afternoon. And this is a very short trip from NYC to Albany.

So, it goes to show, there are still possible delays waiting to sneak out and bite ya, no matter how close you might think it is.

VelvetFoot,
Thanks for the link. My ship does not yet appear in NY Harbor. Maybe later.

The 'Home' link on the aislive page still gives me an error. Maye it's a browser thing.

My mini's trip from NYC to Hartford should be short also.

The ship Courage's Voyage information is starting to be updated... she appears to be on her way tomorrow:

This is all interesting to me... in the past I've not thought much about ships or their logistics. I've looked up the WW fleet and most of their ships carry well over 4000 cars... anything built post 2000 are very large from 5400 to 7400 capacity. See: http://www.2wglobal.com/www/pdf/FleetInternet.pdf

This is also an interesting report since it shows not only east coast but also west coast scheduled deliveries. See: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...pe=generatePDF

Very true, most of them are over 5k, but there are about 4-5 (or a few more) that start at around 3900 and go up.

Yeah, I was all over that schedule when I was looking for mine to ship. That is what confused me when my sales manager told me mine was on a ship, and the WW site had no record of my VIN. That is when I did the calculations, and 'assumed' that it was on the Ingolstadt. Of course, I still can't confirm that one.

Well, the Patriot looks like it got delayed by a day. New York arrival was delayed from today until tomorrow, which also pushes back Charleston from the 9th to the 10th. No GPS updates in 3 days either

Our minis are going to arrive in the US on the same day! Granted, they're going to be 3000 miles apart...

The Manon is docked in NY harbor. Let's hope that those longshoremen and Teamsters know how impatient we new mini owners are. My countdown has been reduced to days!

(Now I just need to sell my present car.)

Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing...

..Owners Lounge has my car at the VDC, while ASK-MINI has it sitting on the pier awaiting transportation...

...*raspberry at MINI*

Once it makes land, AskMini and the Owners Lounge won't help you much. Your MA is THE go-to person from now on.

Mine still shows at the VDC, but I know for a fact that it's on a truck right now.

Once on a truck, depending where you're at, it's a day or two away. Mine's being delivered to Cincinnati and is usually only a 1 or 2 day trip.

Sorry to hear that. Which dealership is it going to and is there someone else that can help you?

This dealership is 50 miles away, and the next closest is about 200...

...the only time I will take it to the dealership is for the 'freebie' service stuff. I'll change my own oil between the 'annual' oil changes. I have been disappointed with the sales staff of this place.

I have heard good things about the service department though. At least that is what one member of the local MINI club posted...

Velvetfoot, that's awesome! Be sure to post pictures!

I've still got at least another week, but I'm starting to get a little anxious about things like finding new insurance and selling my car. All of a sudden, it seems like I don't have that much time left... at least I have my financing all ready!

I got my insurance and financing as soon as I got the VIN....

All I have to do is call the insurance company the day before I pick it up, and it will be active.

Robin81, that's neat that ours will arrive on US soil the same day. I wonder who will beat the other to the dealership?

I know the feeling about things are getting very close. I just realized that I should probably call and get my financing check ordered (I had already been approved - 4.9%!!!) Only two weeks left before I can pick my baby up!
